Poston Butte Golf Club

By far my favorite golf course in all greater Pheonix area when all is considered. Great layout, fantastic practice facility and staff in a beautiful community. Best of all, green fee is not outrageous even during peak season. You need to sharpen your putter though - greens are very tricky. Highly recommanded !

Very friendly staff, finished in under 4 hours, pace was good, but not rushed, well managed. Greens were shaggy but believe this was because there was a tournament the next weekend. Tee boxes oin good shape and fairways wer 8/10 or 9/10. Course in good shape for the weather we've had.

The greens were punch aerated and sanded a month ago and are still recovering from the treatment. Some still have a layer of sand while others don’t. Overall the greens are much slower than normal. Some brown and bare spots in the fairways buts that’s kind of expected at this time of year with our hot/dry desert weather. The maintenance crew does a good job keeping the course in good playing condition and has ice cold water to drink every third hole to combat the heat. Always liked this course’s layout especially the island green 17th that is a lot like the 17th at TPS Sawgrass in Florida. This is a great value right now if you don’t mind playing in the heat.

Always green and always fun. Just a well maintained track that is fun. You will love this course.

Greens still bumpy From aeration but getting better. Can't wait for that. Only problem with this place is length. 6350 from the whites is tough on a 20 handicap.

This is a first-class facility and it's in good condition. Greens were bumpy but thick, and I'm told they are improving quickly. Worth the greens fee without doubt. Oh, good pace too just under four hours for our foursome.

Greens had been punched and sanded a couple weeks earlier. Still very bumpy. Two putt rule in effect. Fairways still have a long way to go before they could be considered good.

Hopefully with proper weather the course will be better in a month.

Coarse was very rough, greens and fairway, they have a qualifier Thursday, not a good idea

Love Poston Butte, BUT the greens have still not come back after being aerated three weeks ago. They were actually in worse shape than they were one week after. Other than that, great as usual!

Heard this was a great place to come play. Our group knew greens had been airiated 10 days prior. Staff did not tell us about course conditions upon arrival.We got to first hole to find out course was under total reconditioning, Greens were loaded with sand and huge punch holes thus making green unputtable. The fairways were also being airiated and loaded with sand, also the apron area and surrounding greens were loaded with sand and then watered heavily. With all these operations happening the course was unplayable. Very unhappy that we were not compensated somehow.Basically we were ripped off by Poston Butte. I sent email to management, never to get a response. Will never return , will not recommend if asked by anyone. Too bad looked like good venue.

Greens were very rough, bumpy and dry. Fairways had some dry areas as well. It may be a seasonal issue, but the course was not as plush and nice as in the past.

Aerified 2 weeks ago, looked like it had been done the day before I played. No warning from the course on Golfnow. Fairways were terrible, large areas with no grass. Greens were very bumpy and sandy. Sand traps were not being maintained by course. Players occasionally raked them. Won't be back for quite a while.
