About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Fun course with some pretty challenging holes. More sand than I’m a fan of but of course was very green and well-maintained. I will definitely be coming back.

Great Layout
But the greens were running slow, I mean ball stopping on a downhill slope slow, like 7 on the stimpmeter. Other than putts not making it down to the hole it is a fun course.
Glad you enjoyed the course overall. It is challenging to keep the greens quick when the grass is growing so quickly. But something we are striving to get dialed in. Thank you for your feedback.

Just punched the green
Course was in okay condition but they just punched the greens which was a bit of a bummer
The greens are getting better every day, and we hope you come back and visit us again soon.
Greens
Overall great course to play, but the greens were dreadful. Played here approximately 1.5 months ago and they had just punched the greens about a week prior.
Yesterday greens were the same! Very sandy, bumpy and downright horrible.
Made reservation on GolfNow, and nowhere in reviews of course was terrible greens ever mentioned.
Has potential to be a phenomenal course, but right now, just barely average.
The greens are getting better every day, and we hope you come back and visit us soon.

Great shape
Course is in immaculate shape especially for this time of year! I always enjoy playing here. I wish they had a regular all you can eat annual membership instead of what they currently have. In most places I’ve lived and places I’ve played, you pay $X and that includes green fees, cart fees and usually range privileges. But I play 150 times a year and a regular annual membership works best for me

Never disappointing !
By far my favorite golf course in all greater Pheonix area when all is considered. Great layout, fantastic practice facility and staff in a beautiful community. Best of all, green fee is not outrageous even during peak season. You need to sharpen your putter though - greens are very tricky. Highly recommanded !
