Poston Butte Golf Club

I don’t recommend any body try to book a tee time after 1:30. Pace of play slow and it’s a free for all , people going around and getting in front of other groups. Slows play even more!

The layout is better than average. The course was in decent shape and the houses rarely come in to play unless you really shank it.

Starter got us out earlier than our tee time because a few groups ahead of us wanted to hit a few more balls on the range.

Twilight Tee time included range balls & cart—no GPS. Nice chipping & putting practice area. BEAUTIFUL facility & excellent restaurant @ reasonable prices. Not played the course before & it was difficult to know where to place your drive because scorecard had no layout. Excellent selection of tee boxes from beginner to a young, low handicap player. They don’t have a club drop off & no help—and no carts in the parking lot— this seemed to be unusual for a quality course.

Despite the fact over seeding was recently done the greens were very quick. Unfortunately it was cart path only so has some long walks to our ball.

Sawgrass hole was a treat. Easy pin placement at the back.

We attempted to play a second time but we got rained out on the back nine. Golfnow did refund us half of our fee. The pro shop would not as it was booked through golfnow.

Would definitely play it again.

This was a great course. Drove about 45 min to go and it was all worth it. Course is in great shape. Cart path only right now, but easy to walk as well. Greens were a little quick and lots of beautiful sand. 😉. The facility and grounds were really nice. We did not use the dining room or snack shack but the drink cart came around multiple times.

Range balls were included with our fee as well and nice large practice putting and chipping areas.

Will definitely be back.

As the title says, no matter what time of year this course is like bullet-proof glass in terms of conditions. It may be tucked away in Florence, but is well worth the drive!

The course plays in different conditions throughout every season, this is not a bad thing. I have played this course over 50 times. In the prime season greens are firm and fast and roll extremely true. While during the warmer parts of the year the greens surprising get softer, but still roll amazing. No matter what mother nature throws at this course their grounds crew has the answer.

All in all if I am ever concerned about summer conditions, overseed, any thing else. I can always count on a great experience at Poston Butte.

The practice area is very spacious (Range/Putting green/chipping&bunker area) are in geat condition and mimicks the course. Lastly the staff is great, always courteous, informative and great to chat with.

It’s been this way for a month and half, course is in great condition, ridiculous to keep making players walk and causing the rate of play to slow to a crawl. Use some common sense

Great course , nice layout for sure I would play it again.

Purse had just come out of overseeing, so fairways were a bit long, and carts were restricted to cart paths. Greens were in excellent condition and rolled exceptionally well.

I love playing here, it’s just a long ways from chandler where my grandkids live. I love the course, so I try to play about 1-2 times per year. Currently a great value compared to other courses in the valley.
