About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Golfer Reviews
Tees, Fairways, Bunkers, Greens, Staff
If you found a flaw in any of those choices, you were some place else. This course is and has always been my confident booking each and overtime. Come play here! It's a must!!
1st time
Great 1st time playing at Poston Butte. It’s a bit of a drive from surrounding Tucson area, but the course was in great shape, good layout with some length to it. Enough space to hit driver all day. Greens were rolling true and challenging with the almost every green being tiered. Hole with the island green was visually awesome and fun to play. Staff was helpful and easy to talk with. 100% will play here again.
Great Course; Bad Staff Experience
Usually wouldn’t go out of my way to leave a review, but here it is..
Course is one of my favs and is finally in great condition. Played here several times this year, but due to how I was treated by a staff member named Scott, I will not return to this course, which is a bummer because the course was is in awesome shape and I play here often. Miscommunication between the staff led to blatant arrogance & disrespect by Scott which I don’t think should be allowed or tolerated by anyone. Thanks Scott! 👍🏻
Always good
Poston never disappoints. Conditions are always solid. Good fairways, greens, and more. Plenty of drinking water on the course as well. All in all it’s in great shape!
Another Great Round
I'm glad I was able to get back to Poston Butte before the prices start to increase, this is such a great course and you cannot beat it right now for the price. If you debating to play here don't! The course is in great shape you will not be disappointed.
Best 18 holes for the price
This course is in phenomenal condition for this time of the year. The practice facilities are top notch and are similar to playing conditions on the course itself. Troon layout is always great as long as youre in the short stuff. Hole 17 is such a cool par 3 with its island green. Definitely recommend you get out and play this one.
Great Day - Great Course
What a round! The course is in great shape for mid summer July. The fairways all green, the greens beautiful and rolling true, the sand traps all very nice just everything was great. Get there before the price goes up. It’s so worth the rates that are being charged now. Will be back real soon.
Fairway overseed has not taken yet/greens fair
Five years ago this course was perfect, even in mid July. This trip to Poston Butte was very disappointing. The greens had just been aerated and were awful for putting. It would have been appreciated if we had known that ahead of time and we would not have driven an hour and half to go there at this time. Tee off/Golf Now should indicate this kind of information. Fairways were in sad shape as well. Over seeding had not taken and there were dirt patches all over the place. Not a fun round. Call before you book and check on condition!
Great shape except the GREENS
Once the greens grow in and mow them down it should better right now I think the STEMP os an 8 or 9 REALLY had to hammer the putts ... the GOOD news was the greens held your approach shots
