About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Bunkers in rough shape. Way to many bunkers if ur not going to maintain them. Greens were pretty bumpy for this time of year and perfect weather. It’s a good layout and fun to play, but should be in better condition.

Great layout, just kinda in rough shape. You can tell the Overseed didn’t go as planned. Plus the bunkers were so inconsistent. Tough course.
Great course
Our tee time was 1:44. Finished in 4 hours 10 minutes. 2 groups behind I believe would have finished before dark as well.
Every staff member we encountered was awesome; friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming.
Course in great shape. Bunkers could use some sand but other than that fairways and greens great.
Will definitely play here again… soon

Course was in great shape compared to 2 the other 2 we golfed!! Took a late time to get discount!! Will play again when in Phoenix!
Poston review
Course in very good condition from tee to green. Always enjoy this course layout. Practice area was in great shape. Could have used a course Marshal as pace of play was very frustrating. I believe the sticker on the cart states expectation for a round is 4 hour, 10 minute round but we had to skip Hole 18 due to twilight and clocking in at 4:25 standing on the 18th tee.

They don’t announce who is on the tee so you have no idea when it is your time.
Course is going downhill
Greens appeared to be painted, appear to be taking shortcuts with the greens
Starter
There is no PA system announcing what group is on the tee or on deck and the starter doesn’t let any group know. Frustrating.
