get there early
Great day on this course. Most of the fairways were excellent. Great bounces. Some of the holes really made you think about your shot. We played the "Prince" and "Queen" 9's. The greens were a bit bumpy and some were really fast. The entire staff we dealt with were fantastic. We were the 1st ones off and by the time we made the turn it was really busy. Saw a family of Otters in one of the ponds and they swam near us to check us out. We will return to play here again.
A nice layout that is reasonable value for money
This course has 3 nines, we played the Prince and Queens. Fairways are in good shape, the sand in the bunkers has a lot of shell or stones in it. Some of the tee boxes were really beat up, most of the greens are OK but a couple have signs of wear. The weather was great and the pace good, just under four hours for the round. I would play it again but I wouldn't want to pay more than 45$
Terrible Shape
Tee Boxes were all chewed up, greens were painted with dead/diseased spots all over, soaking wet despite it being dry season. Only good thing I can say about this course is the 19 hole has a good local beer...
I played this course several years ago and it was in better condition this time. With new ownership and 27 holes, I would recommend this course as a good value for the price.
Fun track
One of my favorite courses in the Ft Myers / Cape Coral area. Although a few greens were in need of repair the rest rolled true and the speed was fjust fast enough to make it fun yet challenging.
The staff was cheerful & friendly. If you haven't played there you owe it to yourself to give it a try. You can even try one of their 1 up scooter golf carts if you feel adventurous.
Lots of water
Very good pace, difficult course; greens especially. A lot of water- bring a lot of balls!
Greens great condition
Played Prince 9, Overall good condition. Couple tee boxes in rough shape. Greens were great. Holes kinda short though, used hybrid off tee more than driver but fun to play placement shots.
Fun track
The 3 nines make it interesting and the course was in fair condition the day we played mainly due to the dry winter season. It was cart path only from the rain last evening. The greens are in fair condition and roll pretty good but not quite as fast as the putting green.
I like the layout for the most part.
Good tough course. Conditioning was ok.
You had better hit it straight off the tee. I enjoyed the course. (I hit it straight today! Haha) my two friends however were less fortunate. Conditioning was ok. Pace was ok. Staff were ok. Nothing bad but not great! I’d be back. I think you get what you pay here. Which is all good.
Pleasantly surprised
I was told by another golfer that the course at Cape Royal was not in good condition but it turned out to be false. The course is in great condition, albeit a bit dry; but so are many courses in Florida this time of year and who can't use a little more rollout? The greens were quick but rolled true to form.
The staff was very friendly plus I shot a 78 so I am very happy with Caoe Royal today just like I've been in the past.
Nice for Florida
Good layout. Needs grass like most of the Florida courses. Greens are better than average. Pace of play was really good. Rather short for a low handicap but good for the average golfer. Good course for women and high handicaps. Really nice pro shop. Women that work in pro shop are very friendly. Nice merchandise choice. Fair prices. Little high for Bermuda Sands but not too bad. Nice bar with good food. Only negative was fairways need grass but that's normal for average Florida course. Reviewed by scratch golfer
The king and the prince a pretty easy at 3000 + yards
But the queen is it killer at 2900 is the hardest.
very poor conditions
The course was in terrible shape. Fairways were thin and down to dirt in spots. Greens were in horrible condition. Mixed grasses, uneven, some were even missing grass entirely in spots. Traps were dirt, not sand, and filled with debris. Very disappointing experience.
Go Anywhere Else
Terrible fairways and greens. All fairways slope to the water and even shots that are hit down the middle can end up in the water. Part of the reason for this is there is no grass on the “fairways “.
Worst golf course ever
No grass, very wet. Extremely slow play. Will never go there again.
