just average....we'll find a better option next time
Trying to find a course with a reasonable rate is difficult this time of year. Never played this course before because it is a decent driving distance but decided to try it. Course is a little over 30 years old and within a housing development that appears to be the same age that obviously was never finished with many open lots. Its a good Arthur Hills design. Fairways were in good shape, greens were good. Tee boxes were rough in many instances with many bare spots. Cart paths have seen better days and need maintenance.. No water jugs on course. Went in the restaurant for a beer afterwards. No one else was in there and has a somewhat run down appearance with lots of carpet staining. Course has 8 minute tee times and we were told three times during the round to speed play up because the course was being "stacked up" behind us. We were a foursome playing behind a threesome and fell behind. Note....we played the front nine in 2:06 which included a five minute beverage cart stop and back nine in exactly 2;00. Ranger confirmed they have a pace of play target of 1;57 for each 9. We are all long time experienced good golfers and this was the first course ever played to be told our four hour round was too slow. We'll find another option next time.
Course Top, but Peace of play to slow
Everthing fine, ecept pace of play. Guys in front of us hitting multipel Balls and slow ist down
Winter Golf in Cape Coral
Coral Oaks was a decent course. The greens were in nice shape for this time of year, but the tee boxes & fairways were in rough shape. The course layout has a few quirky holes. Very busy course, but probably to be expected for a municipal course in that part of Florida. We had a threesome in our group so we had a random single golfer paired with us, which made it very awkward. We were visiting the area from the Midwest for the holidays, so it was nice to be able to play golf this time of year. But I'm not sure I would play Coral Oaks again unless there were no other options available in the area.
Awesome round!!
Course conditions were great. Pro shop staff was courteous and friendly. Pace of play was right as it should be. Teebox is in great shape, fairways roll out wonderfully, and greens were immaculate. Also, even in season, the price point is definitely a good value.
Good fun
Multiple tees make the course playable for all levels of golfers. Staff was friendly and pace of play was good. Practice area has a good chipping and bunker area, with a small target green, which is nice to work on short game. Driving range is good as well. Overall good course with some interesting holes that require shot making rather then just pounding it off the tee. I didn’t use the lounge area or purchase food, so I can’t comment on that.
Municipal Course
Staff was courteous, except for the person in charge of the pace of play. We waited about 5 minutes on the group in front of us to tee off on hole one. After hole 5 we were warned about slow play through the GPS system. On hole 7 we were waiting again for the group in front of us. We finished the front nine in just under 2 hours and felt we couldn’t/shouldn’t stop for drinks from the cart or the turn. We were warned again after hole 13 to keep up with the group in front of us which we were waiting on again o hole 15. We did play in a foursome and one of the group was fairly new to the game but we were done in just under 4 hours for the round so to be warned for slow play twice was unwarranted. Probably won’t play this course again because of that but fortunately there are many choices in the area.
