Cape Royal Golf Club - Prince/Queen

I avoided this course for many years because of reviews from playing partners. I recently played with someone who indicated prior concerns were no longer valid. I played late day with brisk winds (It is Fla.) & found the course to be in average condition although the greens were good with moderate pace. The staff was friendly & accommodating. I will certainly play again hopefully at off hours (it was very crowded) It is a bargain for High Season in SW Florida.

I enjoy playing Cape Royal because it is always in good condition & the greens roll fair & true. The staff, from the club house to starter & rangers are very friendly & the cart girl is cute & accommodating.

We played for the first time. I was very impressed with the staff and the course. It is a challenging but not overwhelming. I look forward to returning

We Play this course regularly when here vacationing. Now have moved to the area and plan to play more often. We payed for 9 holes this time but were only able to play 8 as new irrigation system being installed. Pro shop and starter didn't communicate this information to us and was a total surprise when we rolled up on the crew hard at work. I'm all for on course improvements but a little communication goes a long way. We would have just liked to know beforehand.

We really enjoyed our day playing golf at this course. The pace of play was really good and we started right on time.

The course was in pretty decent shape. The staff is awesome. The pace was horrid. The group in front of us was waiting for the group in front of them to clear the green before hitting their tee shots. I understand on a par 3, but par 4's and 5's is ridiculous. It was a foggy start, but when that lifted, the pace never changed.

Course was not well kept . Very dry and untidy. Greens awful.

Played king and prince. Very quick pace. Course is decent shape. Greens rolled true. And fast

Hard to give a poor rating to folks working hard to improve their course....but construction on the Queen course I played Sunday morning is too hard to pay the price for. Conditions were pathetic. Yeah, I know it’s all for the good when the new irrigation is complete...but Jeeeze-o-Pete, this was a waste of money, should cut prices in half!

Very friendly staff who were welcoming and helpful to this first-timer. Beautiful layout. Greens were “odd”; very grainy and rough leading to very faulty putting reads. I never found them to provide a true read. Overall course condition is fair,. I read some negative comments about the staff but I found every staff member to be terrific.

It is challenging course with abundant water. The course seems very dry but we noted that sprinklers are being added.

I played the Prince and the King nine’s. Both were in good condition though the greens are a bit choppy from what appears to have been aeration maybe 6 weeks or so ago though they were holding well struck shots. The sand is a bit thin in the traps. All in all a fair course definitely worth the money and one I will play often while snowbirding here this winter.

Charged mire at course than what was agreed and contracted on GolfNow. I was told it was a discounted rate because hole one was closed and under construction. This was not listed on the reservation.

Many holes torn up as irrigation is being installed. That would be less of an issue if I was informed at time of reservation.

Not the first tome at this course with unclear info on course conditions. Had two other nines I could have been sent out on.

Course is not ethical in their business practices and tends to overcharge from GolfNow rates this has happened three out of four times.

First time playing here with my son. Loved everything about our round. What made it very enjoyable was being paired with 2 members. They were extremely friendly and played at a very nice pace.

As busy as they were everything moved along smoothly. Little or no delays,, had rain day before not a lot of effect to course or play. Good variety of holes and some real challenges.
