Cape Royal Golf Club - Prince/Queen

I was ready to play the old Royal Tee after so much work has been put into the course. I really don’t see where the course was improved on. I thought the tees were uneven with clumps of grass, sand traps were mud and it had not just rained but obviously not raked out at the beginning of the day, the fairways were okay and the roughs were in good shape and tough to get out of, as they should be. I thought the greens were good and interesting; they were slow but consistent through the course.

We just had a deluge the day before so we had to stay on the cart path, and that was tough for us. But they could not have done otherwise. If affected my stars above because it slowed the pace a bit. The greens were great, and the grub was great. Just take plenty of water with you!

We were paired up with another two-some . They were incredibly slow. It affected our game It took us an hour longer than normal. We asked to go off alone and they said no. For the first time ever playing there the starter asked us to speed tings up. That just added to the frustration.

Greens were in great shape . . . really nice. Fairways were good, not the best but good. The Caloosa Club was excellent. We had hotdogs and cheeseburgers and a BLT and they were really good.

Take plenty to drink because they are not putting out their water and I really got too hot on the back 9. We finally saw a cart girl at 16, thank goodness.

The course and staff are awesome. Fairways are tight in places. Very challenging. I would play everyday if i could.

Some really nice challenges around and over water. Fairways in really good shape. Greens burnt / dry in a few spots. Overall a really enjoyable round.

course is showing a little bit of wear and tear, but overall plays really well. Some of the old timers slow it up a bit, but overall pace is good. some greens are a bit damaged but good rolls where it isn't choppy.

Always enjoy playing here. Lots of water to make you think about shots. Some of the greens needed some TLC but overall I think you would enjoy a round here. 27 holes 3 nine hole courses.

This course is a great value! Knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating staff along with a well kept, challenging course and driving range makes it a must play. The PGA pro Josh Ross maintains a well stocked golf shop and is the “go to” for lessons!

Nice course with a mix of par 3 through 5 and a driving range. Seems fairly new. Good value for your money. Evident that they take good care of the course.

Played here in march. The course was in ok condition although the fairways were getting dry and there is a lot of overgrown vegetation especially near the water holes that blocks too much of your view.

Now ahead to early May. WHAT HAPPENED???. A dust bowl. Fairways are not playable and the greens have weeds growing on them .

After paying , as we approached the starter that's when all the rules were explained to us.

Every other hole cart path only on the Queen course, then play 1-4 on prince and 5-9 on the king. .

My sciatica still has not calmed down from all the walking and hitting off of bare fairways. Someone please help this poor golf course before it's too late! Maybe you should post the playing conditions before people book their round. We weren't saving the grass by walking the fairways!

Much improved. People were friendly, course in good shape. Some greens issues but good deal
