Golf Boards?
We only booked a tee time at this course as it was the only one in the area that had the golf boards, which we wanted to try. When we got there, we were told they didn't have any or that none were available. When booking, we were told that all we would have to do is watch the safety video and we would be able to use them when we arrived. We weren't able to, which was the entire reason we decided to play there, but we were there, so we decided to play.
Pace of play was atrocious to start. We teed off in the afternoon and the first 9 took us over 2.5 hours. After the turn, it sped up, as it was late in the afternoon. The course was in okay condition, but nothing spectacular. The course layout is good, we played the Prince and King 9's and enjoyed the course. The staff was friendly and we made the most of not being able to try the golf boards and the slow front 9. I would recommend this to a friend, but with the caveat that you get what you pay for.
A long way to travel for a round of folf
On the whole, a round of golf has a lot of components to it. One, is the distance to get there. Cape Coral is a long way to go from most places in Southwest Fla., including over a toll bridge to get onto the Island. The course was in OK shape, with the exception of a number of greens which were looking very sad and lost. It’s a very busy place with three 9 hole courses all very full, and on that day, the putting area was blocked off from use for some reason. If you are staying on Cape Coral, it’s worth playing. But, don’t travel over an hour like I did, as there are other courses around which give you as food a value for the money. The
Great shape
Nice course, nice layout. Water on 17 holes. If you get a chance I would recommend playing this course.
Nice track lots of water!
Most tee boxes were showing signs of ware, not surprising with the amount of traffic this time of year, the fairways were good and for the most part pretty wide. The greens were good only one or two with brown patches. Water is on most holes but if you can hit fairways it’s not a problem! Staff were all friendly and helpful it’s a nice course to play and not too difficult. For the price it’s good value for money (in Cape Coral anyway) I would definitely play it again.
Nice course for a great price
Greens and fairways in good condition....friendly staff....great round. We will be back.
Most improved
Not only is this course improving in condition every year but they are charging reasonable greens fees vs many other courses who are "price gouging", at least in my opinion, this time of year. I golf almost every day while "snowbirding" all winter and also when I go back up north for the summer.
I would like to personally thank the staff for making my day pleasurable every time I play Cape Royal.
Challenging
Overall a good course. Greens and tee boxes a little stressed due to use and fairways soaked due to a recent downpour. But still fun to play with enough challenges to test all but the very low handicaps.
MUCH IMPROVED
We used to play here when it was Royal Tee and the course was not in very good shape. Now, since it was purchased by the home owners, the course conditions have improved dramatically. Fairways and greens are in the best shape that I have ever seen them. Definitely would recommend this course.
Fun track
I really like this place. I just wish the snack bar had a little quicker setvice at the turn. I highly recommend calling ahead for a hotdog (or whatever) from the 8th green.
The course is in great condition & the greens were rolling nicely.
getting better
We played queen to king.
The course has come a long way over the past few years. The greens on queen are not bad but greens on prince need a lot of work. Staff are wonderful.
Management is on the right track. Keep it up.
