10/6
Greens are a little bumpy still had a good time worth $30 not $50
Best kept secret!
Wonderful experience every time! Great course conditions! Challenging holes make it fun! Keep up the good work!
Getting better
Course is getting better. Greens and fairways nice and green but greens are slow and grainy.
Quality
Other than the greens being really slow as the grass is growing tall and full, it was in excellent condition especially after a week of significant rain. I’ve played this course for 40 years and it never disappoints.
Nice Municipal
It was a nice course with a combination of narrow and wide open fairways. Greens are getting better but grass was mhhh. I enjoyed the course but for $40+ I expected better. I’d go back if I got a golf now hot deal. Other than that…. Too many courses around the area much better to play for a lesser price.
First Golf Course Ever
The course was super smooth. Well taken care of, easy to navigate, for a beginner.
Shag Carpet
The course was in good shape on the fairways. The tee boxes were not so great. The bunkers we not so great. The greens were like '70s shag carpet, I literally was looking for a sunken living room. The staff was nice, but there was no beverage cart and that was disappointing. I would play here for $25 or less, but $55 is way too expensive for the shape it was in.
Greens
Most greens in ruff shape. Also needed cut. Very slow. Fairways need work. Still not a bad course to play. Hope they don’t let it go. Get fairways and greens in order, will be more enjoyable.
Intermediate level golfers
My wife and I are average golfers. Course was somewhat challenging but fun. Good placement of bunkers and water hazards. First time there. Would definitely go again.
Terrible course conditions
To star off, many of the tee boxes were all chewed up as if no attempt had been made to repair the divot and turf. This makes for a poor stance to start off a hole. The grass on the greens was so high that the putts would always be left short for fear of the ball skipping thru and off the green. Very difficult conditions.
Going downhill
They were incredibly behind. Got there 5 mins early with the golf Marshall check in area and had to wait over 30 mins to tee of past our tee time. The range is pure dirt no grass at all. The course is rough and beat up. Unbelievable to have to pay $60 to play at a dirt filled, muddy, rough and delayed course. Terrible. Do no recommend at all, will not be back
Bring Your Straight Ball, Challenging Layout
My buddy and I play here 2 times per month, always on Mondays. If you look at the scorecard, the course is not overly long, BUT it does put a premium on straight shots and the golfer's ability to hit to a yardage. The vistas on each hole play to your mind as to how far do I need to hit this and where do I want my shot to land. Water comes into play on most holes as a lateral hazard so, if you're a bit wild, bring more than a few balls. The greens are usually fast, though I believe they're a bit longer and slower with the recent lack of rain.
If you're keeping your tee ball straight, it's very enjoyable but it's still enjoyable, though frustrating, if you're not hitting it well. The staff is friendly and I find it an enjoyable experience.
PS The hot dogs in the clubhouse are superior to anything anywhere these days. Stoneybrook East used to have hot dogs like this but, alas, not anymore. I recommend this course unequivocally.
