Cove Cay Golf Club

Cove Cay might not be close to the beach, but it is worth the short drive to the east side of Clearwater. The layout is challenging but not tricked out. Lots of evergreen trees and two holes are on the water (Old Tampa Bay).

It was in very good shape.

Beyond stupid starter.

Miserable pace of play with no ranger in site. Took 2.5hrs to play six holes and we pulled the carts onto the road and drove them to the clubhouse.

Course looks great in pictures but is, in reality, garbage. It’s a $25-$30 course IF it was allowed to be played in under SIX HOURS!

Please, just avoid this train wreck of a business and golf literally anywhere else. To think, we were excited to play this dump while escaping Ohio’s winter. I’d have rather been cold.

I enjoyed the course and its beauty but I feel like its price was a little too high.

If you can get a decent price this a great course.

I’ve played it a few times , greens are fast but fair . You get just couple nice views of Tampa Bay . I don’t think it’s worth more than about $50 bucks. Staff was friendly, starter was helpful .

I have played this course many times in the past and it has always been in fair to good condition. This time it was in less than acceptable condition. The greens were very beat up. I will probably not be playing here again anytime soon.

The pace here was excruciating slow. Players were late to their tee time and still allowed to tee off before others creating a domino effect. One group only had one set of clubs. I think the only way to help this to not book so tight, or make it a walking only course. Outside of the pace and lack of following normal course rules, the course was in amazing condition

We played only the front nine and would recommend the course. Teed off at 1:30 on Thursday and had no one behind or in front of us for the entire round! But course appears to get heavy play earlier. in the day. Also on Thursday around 2 pm a women’s league takes over the course, we were told. So call ahead even if you book a 2 pm or later tee time on GolfNow.. As for the course, tee boxes are OK, with 4 sets of tees. Fairly tight fairways and small greens that are well-guarded with well-tended bunkers. Greens are moderately fast; a bit bumpy from ball marks. Water comes into play on several holes. Lots of high rise condos nearby, but they don’t intrude on the course except in the 9th hole. Good practice range and bar/patio area..I would return.

Decent driving range & practice areas. Good value for bucket of practice balls too. Very short course for a long hitter but course conditions were good. Staff friendly & professional.
