Cove Cay Golf Club

Trying to experience the many golf courses in the Clearwater area and Golfnow give me this opportunity. Cove Cay is my favorite so far!

so i am a scratch golfer… i played tees 1 which are the tips or blue tee… ok yes it’s a short course but it really took away my long ball on most holes… my average approach shot was 138 in. there are a few holes that the greens are bet up on… but they run true and the speed was just right.. the rough in some spots was deep but for the most part it was ok. i had 4 birdies but i also had two doubles in there. so there is room for improvement. this course made you think and shape your shots. so yes i liked it. let’s talk about price… you can’t beat 35$ with a cart. the back 9 views are awesome… will i be back heck yeah. i gotta break par lol

Pace of play was painfully slow. Starter should be pairing twosome's early in the morning. No ranger on the course to keep people moving. Threesome in front of us has 2 open holes, tee box to green open. 3 1/2 hrs on front nine is unexceptionable. Didn't play back 9. Can't do 7 hr round of golf. Tee off at 7:27am

Course was in great shape. There were a couple of greens that needed attention but could see they were addressing them. It was super wet from all of the rain we had this week. I'm not a fan of paths only but I understand. All in all a great time.

Drove 40 minutes this morning after refreshing my email all morning thinking the course may be closed. I got no email saying so and saw their tee sheet was still open. After seeing this I thought the course was open. After driving 40 minutes we get told by a person working the cart barn they are closed. He said the Owner just called him and told him to close up. How at 6:57 the owner can make the call to close shop when they have a tee time at 7 is terrible customer service. Their tee sheet is still open for the day which makes no sense. An email before people travel would be smart in the future.

The course continues to imporove. Fairways are in terrific shape, tee boxes are in great condition and a lot attention has been paid to the greens. New owners are going a great job.

I’ve played here a couple of times and have always had fun. Fairways are in good condition and the tees are solid. Couple of rough spots on two or three greens but they’re good for the most part!

All aspects of on course play( tees, fairways, bunkers) were excellent. Only comment was that some of the greens had a few spots that needed attention.

Larry in the pro shop was extremely helpful upon arrival. Provided important information about pin placements and overall course conditions. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were in perfect condition. Definitely will come back to play and recommend Cove Cay!

Course was great shape! Pace was on the slower side but overall very enjoyable round, loved the layout!

This course is always worth the views, great find on the bay. Hopefully the rain will help the greens...
