Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

High quality Palm Desert track

The Palms course at Desert Springs proved to be an excellent challenge for this 18-handicapper. Lots of water to navigate on most fairways. Very picturesque track with beautiful views of The San Jacinto mountains.

Beautiful golf outing

Very nice fore giving resort course. Play it once or twice a year. With this year’s cooler weather mid-day tee time worked perfectly. Mid 70s and quiet 4 hour round.

Beautiful as always

Greens were a little dry and not perfectly smooth. For the money this course needs to be perfect. Otherwise the course was beautiful.

Multiple people in front of us on the same hole that were playing a bit slow.

Great - very resort heavy

Great conditions, there are two courses - Palm and Valley. Not sure the difference we played Palm. Pace was ok - we had time to take our time but had to wait 5 mins every other hole. Huge resort, lots of visitors. Great views, a lot of the holes we played were along the main road which is interesting for the price you pay.

Decent Course but Not Amazing

Tee boxes, fairways, and rough were very well maintained. Course was green and in pretty good condition. Pro shop staff and bev cart ladies were all very, very nice. However, the greens weren't great. My group of 8 guys played SilverRock, Desert Willow (Firecliff), and Desert Springs (Palms) last weekend. Of the three courses, we ranked Desert Springs a distant #3. Greens were a little scruffy and didn't roll very well at least compared to SilverRock and Desert Willow. Bunkers weren't great either. While it's not the fault of the resort, it didn't appear resort guests knew how to rake bunkers. My group was in plenty of bunkers and almost every bunker had shoe marks, divots, holes, etc and was not raked. Desert Springs also had the highest green fees of the courses we played. We had a good time, but we will probably skip this course during our next trips to Palm Springs.
