Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

High expectations, but..

It’s a well managed golf course. However, resort guests need to be restricted from entering the golf course. We had to stop playing several times because of people walking or biking across the course.

Clown golfers

Today, on our second nine, we had to follow a group of 7 clown golfers. They were not there on the first nine. It is absolutly unacceptable.

Greens are a mess

Not sure what has happened here. No flowers around the greens as before. Water features turned off. Greens brown and won’t hold an approach shot. Lousy marketing. They have a captive audience at the nearby Marriott properties but do little to no outreach. I don’t get it.

Rolling hills, seldom a flat lie.

This resort is spectacular! The course is beautiful but the rolling fairways are extremely challenging. Played 14 rounds of golf in the past three weeks and scored 6 strokes higher on this course. For the price I would prefer to play somewhere where I am having more fun.

Love this course

This is a great course that we always try to play when in the PS area. It's a bit pricey, but other than that it's pretty much a perfect course. Staff was friendly, course was in great shape (as usual) and the pace of play was just fine, considering it was cart path only that day.

Palms always a fun round

Conditions We’re still good even though they are getting ready to do maintenance soon. Greens are a little rough and a little fast right now but still fine for most part. Was able to finish in about four hours which I thought was good timing. I also played nine holes on the valley course which is just opening back up and is in a little better shape than the palms course with the greens being thicker and smoother. I always enjoy Desert Springs golf.

Good resort course

Course in good shape - greens ran true. For the cost of a round; driving range should be included; it was not.

If you don't mind hitting the driving range before you get to the JW, you'll be right.
