Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

Rude Outside Service
Cart service person rude. My green fee was for free
replay. He refuse for us to play again. He said that there has not been a free replay in three months. My two friends had room at JW was very upset.

Great classic course, with tons of elevation changes
This is a great course to play in the desert. Grounds at the JW are beautiful. The course has very few flat lies, with significant elevation changes that are unexpected of a desert course. Wide forgiving fairways and the residences are not so close to the fairways that you need to worry. Only complaint is that you can end up waiting on a few tees, as the course is not marshalled much (at all?).

Fun resort course golf.
The Marriot staff are always excellent. This course is challenging and fun. It has lots of water and great views. Bring an extra sleeve of balls if you decide not to layup! Complimentary range balls before your round. Finish off with a post-round beer at the resort, and you have a great day of golf.

Great course, but I can't understand why customers aren't told that the greens were punched when they are booking their tee time?!?! I booked through Golf Now and this happens all the time. Best to call the course before...don't rely on Golf Now to be up front about conditions. Thumbs down!
