About
Desert Springs Resort has a longstanding reputation as a luxury resort that offers something for everyone. There are two championship golf courses that sprawl across beautifully landscaped grounds covered with lush vegetation and sparkling lagoons, providing a scenic oasis amidst the desert surroundings. From nearly every hole at the resort, golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and Santa Rosa Mountains. Water is the most prominent feature of both golf courses. Between the two of them, over 35 acres of water features come into play. The Palms Course is the slightly more challenging layout of the two, but both are accessible to players of all skill levels. The layout features well guarded greens, thick rough and towering palm trees bordering the holes. It has a memorable finishing stretch that starts with an island par-3 on the 17th and finishes with a tricky dogleg par 4 with water all along the left side.

Beautiful course that will challenge your mental game
The course was very well maintained. The fairways' condition is better than most of the courses I have ever played. The greens were pretty fast but not a lot of undulations to frustrate you too much if you misread.
There are lots of holes with water in play and they will play tricks with your mental games. But if you play it a bit more conservatively, you should be okay. Since the greens were fast, there is a good chance that your ball will roll off the back and into the water.
I will definitely be back again. :)
Good Course; Greens a bit Bumpy
We played this course starting early (7:45 on a Sunday), and was a bit disappointed at the pace of play (we finished in 4:15) considering we teed off fairly early. Imagine later in the day was even worse. Course from tee to greens were in great shape. Greens, however, were a bit bumpy and could have been in better shape. Otherwise, had a great time playing there.
Mariott Desert Springs, slow play but gorgeous!
Beautiful course! The course allows ‘five’ somes. We had one set of five in front of us and one in back. So expect to wait on every hole about 5-10 minutes. The five some would not allow us to play through. We asked at the turn.. no rangers monitoring play. Play is very slow. Club house closes at noon, not sure why... it was 90 degrees and not hot. Could not make any purchases at club house. The course is ‘gorgeous’!
Fun course to play. Greens were firm and fairly fast. Good practice facility and the starter was very friendly. I would play this course again.
Nice Conditions
Ideal playing conditions and the course was not crowded. The golf shop and cart attendants were very friendly and accommodating. The cart ladies were present on both the front and back 9. Well maintained and manicures tee boxes and fairways. The greens were a little burnt and the bunkers could have used a little more sand.

I've played this course several times over the past couple years and it's always perfect, just a happy environment! Greens and Fairways are as they should be and the island greens with waterfalls top it all off!
Greens are in Poor condition. Holes are not cut correctly and the bunkers are like hitting off cement.
