Ballamor Golf Club
About
The18-hole track at Ballamor Golf Club is renowned for its usage of the naturally hilly course in its layout. Brian Ault, the designer, utilized the natural terrain and thick forestry and also added subtle modern and traditional touches to create a unique golfing experience.
The golf course doesn't feature any "signature" hole, but each hole is different from the others and they employ the use of almost every type of golf shot. As a composition, the 18 holes create a course that is both challenging and fun. The course also has five sets of tee boxes. Another distinguishing characteristic of the course is its "go out and stay out" philosophy and layout. The golfer starts near the Clubhouse but doesn't end until the 18th green. This allows for a faster game and there is also a halfway house for refreshments.

Looking at the 18th green Photo submitted by Jeffrey6275494 on 09/12/2013
Beautiful course.
Glad we played this course. In great condition and staff was very friendly. Happy we took a cart as some of the holes are spread far apart. I played the Gold tees as the Reds made it a short course for me, female golfer with 20 handicap, I played to my handicap. We played late morning and bugs were not an issue at all.
Hard to score
Low slope doesn't square with difficulty in scoring well. Don't know why?
Great course
This is a great course that became public only a few years back. Almost worth the $100 they charge at peak, but a no brainer at the $50 hot deal you can often get in the afternoon. Fast greens, great fairways, tough layout. Only slight minus is some of the staff is still snooty.
Ballamor
Everytime I play this course, it challenges me. The pin placements were exceptional the day I played. Always maintained well.
Challenging Course in great shape!
Played this course over my vacation down Ocean CIty, NJ. It was less then 20 minutes away. Worth the trip, and the price. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Atlantic City as well.
Great course
One of the best South Jersey courses
A fair but difficult course
Fast greens
Fast green ground a little hard and dry but great course , a lot of traps around greens
Beautiful layout !!
The once private course is now open to the public. I've played under both conditions and this is a nice course. Hesitant to give the course 5-stars because of the greens. The greens are cut very tight(low) so, they show every ball mark etc. A little bumpy. Surprising receptive to good shots. Lots of level changes on each green, know the pin placements for the day. Make sure you spend a little time on the practice greens to gauge the speed. Otherwise, not much to complain about. T-boxes, fairways are nice. Sand traps and hazards are strategically placed to challenge all players. A little pricey, but worth a visit a couple times each year.
Nicest I've played in South Jersey
So far the best course I've played in South Jersey.
great course
well maintained for a great price. too many sand traps though :)
Nice Layout and Challengeing
The course was in BEAUTIFULL condition, one of the best I've seen. Fairways, Tee boxes and Greens Very well maintained. A must play.
A hidden gem.
One of the best courses I have played. In great condition, challenging, yet fair. Pace of play was good and a great hot dog at the turn.
Lots of bunkers but wide fairways.
Had just finished pouring rain so naturally fairways wet and some bunkers had standing water however I played here before and very challenging with many bunkers however fairways are plenty wide. Usually always well kept fast true greens. And don't let me forget to mention water on some holes that make this one of the more challenging in south jersey. Worth the money!
A well laid out tract
The course and facility where very nice. The hole placements where good for average golfers. The fairways where in great condition. The greens where firm to soft due to rain although there is excellent drainage on the greens. Fairways had some puddled spots but overall good drainage. a very good course overall.
Great course, treated well
Course was in great condition, staff was wonderful. Left my 6 iron and called 2 weeks later when I noticed. They mailed the club to me for free, great customer service. I would play here again any time, superb course, great greens.
Great value with some tee times, excellent condition!
I had played Twisted Dune next door and was impressed with the layout and the challenge. Ballamor was sold as a recently converted private track, so I was eager to check it out. Great staff, unhurried feel when we got there. Starter had things under control as far as group spacing. Played it from the blue tees at 6,600 and it felt pretty much right about there. Wide landing areas but strategically placed bunkers. Very smooth greens running well, but not very fast. Took 2.5 hours to get through first nine, quick bite at the halfway house, then it got jammed up. My takeaway, echoed by my playing partner, was that it was a nice track, but not very memorable. No one hole stood out. A well-maintained pine barrens track. I preferred Twisted Dune, and certainly ACCC would be a better bet (but pricier).
Well maintained, tough course
The course is very well maintained an in excellent condition. It is very challenging with its many bunkers, both in the fairways and around the greens. Especially tough when it is the first time you've played the course. Would like to go back and try it again now that I have seen the course once.
Great test!!
This was truly a great course!! Greens had a lot
of speed and breaks with a chance to 3 putt on
every one!! The course has everything water hazards
forced carrys really just a fantastic layout!! The
only bad thing I can say is the one ranger seemed
way to keystone cop like with his timing of the
pace of play I played in a foursome and had
no one in front or waiting behind us yet in a
2 hole stretch this guy came up twice asking
us to play faster?? I've NEVER been asked to
speed up in 25yrs of golf and the group I
played with was offended by his harassment!!
They time u there which is fine but if no one
is waiting why bother people it affected my group.
Then ofcourse we rushed caught group in front
and waited last 5 holes on them?? Staff can use
a little common sense but still a fantastic course!!
