Spruce Creek Country Club

Based on other reviews, I expected so much more. The back 9 was nice, but you had to play a below-average-feeling front 9 to get there. Sparse fairways, inconsistent greens and a 5-some in front of us made for a less than stellar day. Cap that off with a clubhouse restaurant that refused to serve non-members and my very short list of never-play-again courses just grew by one

Always fun playing this course, Florida needs rain tho, and conditions would improve.

Used to play here somewhat regularly, but haven’t been there in a couple of years so decided to go back. The course is in pretty good shape. Tee boxes are fine, fairways a little thin but ok, and greens were fine and rolled true and at a decent speed. The course always felt like a bit of a muni on the front side, and nicer, but more challenging on the back.

The bad……

Zero atmosphere and customer service was appalling. The guy in the pro shop was not very friendly when I checked in, more like borderline rude. I gave him my name, he checked the system and immediately said, you’re 40 minutes early, you can’t go out until your time. No welcome to Spruce, nice to have you, have you been here before, enjoy your round. Just pushed a cart key towards me and said, you can’t go out early. Now, keep in mind, the place is empty. Not a golfer in sight and an empty parking lot. At one point while we sat waiting, looking at the empty first tee, we asked the guy picking up balls from the chipping green if we could go to the tee. He said I don’t see why not, but let me ask. He came back from the pro shop and said he was told that members might show up, so we can’t go. No one ever came, and mercifully we were allowed to tee off at our tee time. We finished about 20 minutes before dark, having to use the one cart with a charge, to push the other cart down 18. We were the only cars in the parking lot when we finished. And it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, with the bar and restaurant closed, so no opportunity to grab a drink or bite at anytime.

If you want customer service, appreciation of your business, and facilities, like a place to get a drink or food during, or after your round, drive 2 miles down the road and play at Venetian Bay.

Sorry Spruce Creek, I’m not coming back to give you my business.

Got a reservation thru golf now for $45 got to the course and they charged us $69 said they raised their price what a bunch of crap

Arrived on time for an 8:37 and the booking was full so straight to the first tee. Played on with two members and had a great time. The course is very playable from fairways but the rough is aptly named. The greens accepted good shots and rejected mediocre ones. Putting is true but grainy.

Played so quickly first 18 that we went for a replay. After the 27 I played through a group and had the back nine to myself for the rest of the afternoon. Nice bar, good service and good soup!

I booked a foursome yesterday on golf now price was $45 per person, get to the course to check in and the cost was $69 per person . The guy checking us in said the price went up November 1st ?? We would have never went there knowing the price was $24 more person. Not sure the disconnect here but seems like someone should stand by the price that was booked , feel like we got ripped off

We like this course however for some reason they had the whole course marked for cart path only. Most of the course was dry except for 2 holes. This made for a very long round!!

Always a good time, great facility, food, beers, super helpful people. The course is in great shape, the sand in the traps is very good and workable, and the greens were as good as I've played in months.

Wish greens were faster, but they were full, smooth but soft. The course was wet, but overall conditions were great. The bunkers have been redone and they are outstanding and all approach areas are very nice. Best shape I've ever seen the crouse and I've heard there's a lot more to come as a lot of money is being poured into it.

From tee boxes to greens, everything is looking good. I play here regularly and it’s in very nice shape now with new concrete filling in some previously missing spots on the cart paths, new fluffy sand in the bunkers and greens rolling true.

Course is in great shape, there new sand in the traps.

Tee boxes were a bit rough, greens are in good shape just super slow, cart girl was super friendly and so was the pro shop staff

Just played this course for the first time with friends who play here regularly...it was great...good fairways and excellent greens...a little bit of cart path only probably due to the rains and rough was slightly deep also probably rain related. If you are anywhere nearby, this will be a good round to enjoy. I live over and hour away but still plan on playing here monthly

I have been playing this course for years and like it. I don’t play here in the winter because their prices have gotten too high. When I saw it for $35 after 2 pm I knew it was worth it.

We played twice in the past 2 weeks and the course is in really good shape. The greens are really good and a little faster than the first time. The tee boxes could use a little TLC but the rest of the course is in great shape.

Course was in good condition. Greens rolling nice and plenty of grass in the fairways. Staff extremely friendly. Wish this course was a little closer so I could be a member.

I feel like this is one of the best courses in Volusia county right now. The course was in very good condition tee to green except for a few tee boxes. I would definitely recommend
