potential
greens were shaggy and spotty. hopefully they will come around in next few weeks
Nice round
These courses continue to obviously struggle as no water, ball washers and the restroom roof almost gone and covered with a blue tarp partially. It was still worth the money as course was nice
Oldie but Goodie Country Club
Sure the clubhouse and past membership have seen their better days, but that doesn't detract from a great layout and passable greens. Plus pace of play is excellent...no overbooking here! Good prices make this excellent value for the money.
Winter golf
Excellent value for winter golf in Florida.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Booked this round on golf now, which was a bonus. Nice layout and challenging to say the least. Can’t wait to return and will be soon.
Better than advertised
Many recent reviews told me that the course had little grass on tees, fairways and greens. I found that to be misleading. Greens did have some patchy spots but overall they had lots of grass and although a little slow they putted just fine. Fairways also had more grass than other Florida courses for this time of year. Pace of play wasn’t that bad as we played with an older couple who hit many shots and we still finished in 4:10. I would definitely recommend this course if you are in Daytona Beach.
course has greatly improved
wow dude, greens are slow and cut clean. Fairways are solf and full, but i paid 56 bucks to walk in and buy around for plus one, not cool. GOlf NOw had a deal for 50 with taxes and fees for 8 bucks less. book on Golfnow. call and ask before you go!!!
Fun course to play
Pretty much enjoyed everything about this course except for the way they mowed the greens..left it too high making the puts really slow.Hard to get it to the hole after playing fast greens at other courses..Overall id play this course again.
Overpriced golf round while visiting Daytona Beach
I booked my round at Pelican Bay GC using the GolfNow app as I looked for an early morning round; I read the customer reviews which had me leaning away from booking the round, but I decided to let the course speak for itself and booked the round for $50; as I drove up and tried to enter the building, there was a sign at the front stating the doors remain locked and directed guests around the side to the golf shop; I was well received by the gentleman at the counter, paid, given a key to a cart, and directed to the first tee box; the practice putting green was in poor condition with lots of blank space without grass; I putted twice and drove toward the first tee box which was taken by a 2-some; after they teed off, I drive up and noticed the tee box was shaggy (unmowed) but figured the recent rainy weather was cause for the condition and teed off when appropriate; as I played, similar conditions existed across the tee boxes and greens, but the fairways were being mowed as I played; it was a quick round because there was only the 2-some in front of me throughout the round which was not very deterring, and as I made the turn on #10, I noticed a single behind me whom I never saw again.
Personally, I probably won’t ever play here again since I am visiting for the first (and possibly last) time, so recommending this course is something I would do with the caveat of waiting until better weather conditions become regular; I feel this course would be really fun with more pristine conditions after the winter season ends.
I have played two other Daytona Beach area golf courses while visiting which had similar green fees, and I would recommend both of them over Pelican Bay in its current condition, but the layout was quite fun.
A little rough but good value
Practice green was bad but layout was great and rest of course was in
Pretty good shape. Played in under 3.5 hours. Good value by and I would play agsin
Educate staff
The day before we played 18 in a little over 3 hours this day took over 4 hours. To start off the young lady behind the counter was rude and argumentative that I scheduled a tee time for 4 players and I offered to show her my digital receipt for 2 but she said she didn’t care what my receipt says I will probably be charged extra by golf now. The first nine was a little slow but very normal when we got to the 10th tee it was backed up 4 groups deep, they sent the people playing 9 hole rounds to start on the back 9. Course was very busy and a little thinking would have gone a long way.
Nice round
Teed off at 1:00 and were done by 3:15, pace of play was great, fastest round I’ve seen in years.
