Golfer Reviews
A Public golf course are for the birds, Wild Turkeys, but Pelican Bay for eagles and birdies
This place is up and coming. GR8 forgiving track for a 20 handicap (or below), The sand traps were so fuff up, I could of used a 9 iron to get out. The greens were so soft, Phil Mickelson would of tap his cap with my wedge shots. Fun layout all around. Ask Andy for GolfLogix, Plays Smarter golf layouy book. Youll need it. Hit thm straight.
Poor patchy greens
It's been over a year since playing this course and conditions have not improved much. They have increased prices and is no longer a good value as there are many other courses in the area that are in much better shape and often at lower prices. If you can get a low priced Hot deal through GolfNow it is ok for a practice round.
Poorly ran establishment
Poorly ran golf course from the clubhouse to the 18th green. Staff is very unfriendly and will never go back. Course conditions were poor as always and it shows based on the people they choose to run the pro shop. STAY AWAY!
Beautiful course needs work
Played with my cousin on a picture perfect Saturday. Very few players on the course. The course needs some work especially the greens. Many of the greens had sandy places where they were being treated. The greens ran fairly well all things considered. The lady in the pro shop said they were short on help especially in the maintenance area. Need a job? This may be the place for you. Very nice people here and a pretty course to play. I will play again.
Course layout brilliant
Greens need to filled with sand after aeration..
Place needs a present acting Pro golf instructor onsite
Need to reopen the food and beverage area
Would be nice to have a beer cart going around the golf course
But most of all tee box need some TLC
Good Luck.
Good value offsets course conditions.
Friendly staff and excellent pace of play make up for a course in need of TLC. Reasonable rates and played entire round in 3 hours.
Could be a good course, but...
The layout is decent, however that is the only thing this course has going for it. The cart paths are 20 years past due for repairs, the greens have weeds and the fairways are not maintained at all. Combined with the nasty smell of the waterways, and it is one of the absolute worst courses I have ever seen. They either need to repair this course completely or close it down. The latter is probably what they are doing, and just trying to bring money in as long as possible. Folks would be better off going to play at a closed down putt-putt course. Rated the pace of play high, as it was a Saturday mid-morning in May and probably only 20 golfers on the entire course at once, so we didn't have to wait for others to go.
Don’t waste your money
In town for the week from Missouri. I try and play a few different courses each time I’m down so today this was the course.
I arrived 45 minutes before tee time to hit a bucket of balls on the range and get ready.
Told the gentleman working it was my first time at the course and asked if there’s anything I needed to know. He handed me a small course layout and told me what the position for the flag colors. Nothing about how to get to the first tee box or where the range was located. Not a big deal as there were signs, just had to look a little bit.
Range was in decent shape. It was actually in pristine shape compared to the course.
The tee boxes were terrible, not a single one was in good shape.
Greens were terrible was dirt patches on most. I’ve practiced in back yards better than the fairways! The greens in the back nine were aerated, and this was not mentioned beforehand.
At the end of my round, I asked the lady working the counter if they had a superintendent. She replied yes. Didn’t bother to ask why. So finally I asked why the course was in such bad shape. She didn’t have an answer other than “we are short staffed this year”.
The layout of the course looked like it could be a fun course, but the upkeep is definitely something left to be desired.
I found my way into three bunkers on the course and none had a rake.
Overall, this is definitely a course I would not visit again regardless of if I’m an out of stater or a local.
The staff didn’t seem to care, wasn’t rude, just not accommodating.
Again, the layout of the course was fun, but the upkeep bit so much.
course is terrible. Needs to close
Fairways and greens terrible. They are not taking care of this course., Worst course in the area..I would not take any more tee times.
Great score, rough course conditions
While I scored the best back 9 of my career, the overall course condition was not up to par. Lots of bare spots on the greens, needs new sand in traps, etc. But you get what you pay for, and it was the cheapest round (less than $25 with cart) so I'm not complaining. Keep your expectations low and score even lower!
