Glen Abbey Golf Club
About
The 18-hole Glen Abbey Golf Club in Debary, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dominic Palombo, Glen Abbey Golf Club measures 6661 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are winter rye.
The Glen Abbey course winds through gently rolling landscapes of sylvan splendor and a 60-acre body of water known as “No-Name” Lake. There are no parallel fairways and all fairways are tree-lined. Water comes into play on eight holes. There are 80 strategically placed bunkers. Crepe myrtle, elderberry and oleander plantings are an aesthetic addition to existing magnolia, oak and towering pines which frame most fairways.

Hole #12, 150 yard par-3 over water Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 03/08/2019
The course is mostly in pretty good shape. There are still a few places that haven't dried out and there are a couple places where they are working on the course. The weather was a factor again - cool and windy. A wind breaker jacket was the item of the day to wear. I had a good time and enjoyed myself. Got some fresh air and a little exercise. All in all it has been a good day.
Play Glen Abbey for a comfortable and relaxing round of golf
Glen Abbey allowed me to have a vert relaxing afternoon. The course is being worked on in a few different areas and there is a minor problem with a few low areas that had not totally dried out yet. I enjoyed playing this course and will undoubtedly play here again - many times.
A little expensive for its value
The course was lacking maintenance a lot and we were rushed by impatient players
Don’t go
This course was in terrible condition and the customer service wasn’t much better. The course is very old and hasn’t been updated in years. I don’t recommend.
Great value
Would recommend for someone wanting to play a great round for a great price.
Must Play and I will play again
What a nice day! This course is a jewel, rough, but a jewel.
It has several holes that would rank with the best holes I’ve ever played. Greens are getting better, could see where goosegrass has been sprayed. Lots of rain lately had some areas very wet. The Owner and the locals are worth the trip. Had a very nice afternoon and will surely return. Sure it was a treasure in its past. Go Play It!
Needs a lot of Love
Course is not in good shape from tee boxes to fairways to greens. Everything needs work and course would need an influx of money. If your looking to just hit some balls and practice this might be ok. If you just starting out this is your place. Any experienced golfer is going to be disappointed here.
Tim&Bob
The course was little rough in places, but greens were good! I will play there again! Oh, and the rough needs mowed!
What happened
I haven’t been here in over a year
What happened it was never perfect but Man it was hard to tell the fairway from the ruff the weed/grass clumps was the most i ever have seen not good hitting balls off on or around those weed clumps
It’s still a fun course for 20$
Bad course
Course was in terrible shape. It is the worst course I have ever played.
Utter slop.
Me and my playing partner get there and each ask for a cart (which is supposed to be included) and they tell us we have to share one. Other wise it would be an extra 10 dollars each to have our own. The quality of this course is unplayable starting at the first hole. No cart path at all. I hit my drive dead center of the fairway and the ball was lost 6 inches under water. Narrowly missed getting stuck several times tires spinning the whole time. I understand that it’s Florida and it rains but this course has no drainage whatsoever and there’s no warning before hopping on the course. That combined with the rude workers and dirty carts I wouldn’t recommend this course to even the most novice of players.
Terrible Course Conditions
Whole course was underwater. Multiple FAIRWAYS had many inches of standing water. Bunkers had exposed piping. Greens were dead and weed ridden. 18th hole was unplayable. 150-300 yards out was all underwater. Worst conditions I have ever played. Only reason I didn’t ask for a refund was because I was playing with my Father who I haven’t seen in a while.
Bad shape course
Very wet and in bad shape nice layout but for the price not a bad place to take a beginner golfer like I did to hack around one thing do they have nice golf carts with USB charger
