Glen Abbey Golf Club
About
The 18-hole Glen Abbey Golf Club in Debary, FL is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dominic Palombo, Glen Abbey Golf Club measures 6661 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 137 and a 72.9 USGA rating. The course features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels. The greens are bermuda grass and the fairways are winter rye.
The Glen Abbey course winds through gently rolling landscapes of sylvan splendor and a 60-acre body of water known as “No-Name” Lake. There are no parallel fairways and all fairways are tree-lined. Water comes into play on eight holes. There are 80 strategically placed bunkers. Crepe myrtle, elderberry and oleander plantings are an aesthetic addition to existing magnolia, oak and towering pines which frame most fairways.

Great Track!!!!
Don't let the clubhouse area scare you off. Looks like it needs a bit of an "update", but at least they put there $$ in the course. Great track, minus the 18th hole. Only Par 5 I have ever played that a bomb down the middle leaves you with a wedge-wedge to the hole, due to the set up of the trees. Poorly designed final hole. Great 1-17, however!
Tough but fair little course
First time playing here. Greens were in really good condition and rolling nicely. Had to play from the tips because it is a little short. 6300 from tips. A lot of doglegs and shot making to be done. Tee boxes were a little weedy and some bald areas in the fairways but over all, a good day! Nice back nine change of scenery.
Much Improved!
Played a round at Glen Abbey in DeBary FL with my daughter. The course is much improved since the last time I played there. The buildings have been spruced up, but more importantly the fairways & greens have received a greatly needed amount of attention. There used to be a noticeable difference in the condition of the front 9 over the back, but no more. The entire course is now near pristine. Kudos to the staff & crews!
And as for our round... we scored terribly but had a great time!!
Variety
A good variety of holes, there some short and easy holes and some holes that require good shot making.
Enjoyed the course,we played one day after a rain so the greens were a little slow, but most times they are quick but true to read. Enjoy the course and play at least once, sometimes twice a week there.
Great value course
I have played this course several times and enjoyed it each time.
They are a great value for the money, the course is in good condition and the greens roll well. We had a lot of rain and the course drained very well.
With all the highly priced courses in the area, it is wonderful to have a nice course at a reasonable price. The front 9 is easier, the back 9 holes are more challenging also some very pretty holes.
I have given 5 stars as it is one of the best courses for the price in Seminole County.
Good value
This course is a great value for anyone looking to play a decent course for a great price. It's not the best maintained course you will find, but it's mostly in good shape. Most of the greens could use some work. There are weeds on most greens that make it hard to put with precision. Overall, a good course if you just want to get out and play.
Well worth it. Greens very good. Fairways excellent they have some fluff to them. It was a pleasure hitting off them. Rough was fair
Well worth playing great value for the money. Play lift clean and place to avoid some bad spots in the rough
Love the Course
I played the course on Monday, had a great time, the staff is excellent especially the Cart Guy, very professional. Will play the course again.
Nice course
Read other reviews and must agree with the cart paths need to be repaired and it is bumpy. Other than that, the course is in beautiful condition. The layout is nice and the greens foll fast. Sometimes the pin placements are in tough spots with alot of break. If you don't drive the ball over 230 yds., you should play the senior tees. The staff is great. Some times the play is slow because alot of seniors play there. It is well worth the money and cheaper than alot of other courses. Off course amenities could be better. If you are a senior, you will enjoy the course.
Odd but true
Played the course for the first time a week ago. Course was awesome and pace of play was good. After my round I noticed a flyer on their board indicating they was having a 4 man night golf scramble. I notified a couple buddies and decided to enter. Well one team member ended up having a last minute emergency and couldn't play. So the three of us decided to play even though we was a guy down. Can you imagine we won, but here's the kicker. We was the last group to finish and prior to us turning our card in they had already awarded the prize to another team. Kinda bummed but for what it's worth the course and staff are 2 thumbs up.
Great day w Friends!
Good fun course with friends for the money.
very good layout fairways too bumpy...
I enjoyed the layout. My only issues with the course is the fairways are to bumpy people with back problems i dont suggest you play here. Also the cart paths are breaking down and they have alot of dirt paths. If they could fix these 2 issues the course would be as good as surrounding course..Like De Bary CC 1 mile from this course if i am going to travel 50 miles to Debary i will play the golf club and c.c. of Debary.
Rough Ride
Some cart paths are in need of repair so be careful. There are some areas that drop off from pavement to dirt/sand drastically. There were areas of the fairway and greens that are over watered and mushy.
Nice course for he money
fairways are pretty good, the greens are very fast, took some getting used to. however the rest of the rough is lumpy and bumpy. had to drive slow so I wouldn't injure my back. All in all though a good time and bargain.
Fun, but different
Course was fun to play, though the back nine was totally different than the front nine. The back. I need has a totally different design and is a lot tougher. The greens were nice, but the rough needed some improvement. I'll definitely be back, because it was still a fun round
Nice course in good shape and easy to play
I'm not great golfer who needs resort style courses to challenge me... I just like to play golf. This course was a nice, easy and open course to play. I really enjoyed my round.
GN gave me a good price. I like playing different courses in the area. This is a nice fairly easy course to play. it is in pretty nice shape overall.
The tee boxes were in good shape, the fairways were well manicured with a few rough spots or hazards around, and the greens were really nice and very fast and not too challenging. The rough was cut to a length where you could find the ball easily.
This is not a very challenging course, but if you want to just go out for a nice easy relaxing round of golf, this is the place.
I liked it because it was not crowded, I could take my time and just enjoy the game and nature and relax and not get frustrated or upset with some poorly placed shots that were easy to advance.
Lots of birds and nice scenery. I will play this course again. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my round here.
