Friendly Golf Course

The membership and course mgmt were great, I found the location off some tees and greens to be too close, never waited to putt when the group ahead tee off over your head!! The layout is tight and some course maintenance is required, some tee shots are blind and the telescopic mirrors aren’t great, with trees over grown etc. Greens were quick, especially downhill!! It was windy which really was challenging, overall a good experience made better by the staff.

Super friendly staff. Great Conditions

After receiving a very warm welcome at the pro shop. We got straight out onto course. Pace of play was excellent. The fairways are in phenomenal condition and the greens are great (but challenging). Good mix of holes. Plenty of challenging trees and green positions. And a friendly reception n the club house after made for a fantastic day, fully recommend.

Golf Course Birthday Treat

We played 18 holes for the first time on the course in perfect conditions for the first time. Previous visits had been hampered and shortened by poor weather. The course was excellent with just some parts GUR.

The course offers varying degrees of complexity with a far share of bunkers protecting most greens, some of which are high lipped and difficult to pitch out from. Trees and sloping fairways were a common hazard.

The course is in a beautiful location above Carmarthen with far reaching views. We had a great round of golf on a tranquil day, which we know is a devilish course in poor weather. i My son posted a good score of 89 or handicap score of -3. The least said about my round, the better!

The kitchen was closed on a scheduled down day but the clubhouse and golf shop were open. The only disappointment was closure of the driving range for necessary repairs.

Overall, an enjoyable round on a panoramic course.

Weather conditions were not great

We only played 9 holes, primarily due to the weather, but also because the fairways and semi rough spoiled the experience. The fairways had been cut - but were still quite long, but the main issue is that there were grass cuttings all over them - meaning we had to lift and clean all the time. The semi rough was also a little too long - rolling off the fairway by a metre often resulted in us not being able to see the ball - until almost standing on it. As I said - I think the weather conditions were the main reason for not enjoying the course - but I think the course should have been better presented.

Friendly challenging course

Lots of hills and trees to shape an interesting and challenging course. A little tight in places and tees cross over which could be confusing but given the weather recently the course was in good condition and the greens were receptive and reasonably quick.

Very enjoyable afternoon and everyone I met was friendly and helpful and proud of their course.

Very scenic

There was a temporary green and 1 closed hole but overall the course played very well considering it's only been one dry week after a winter of rain! The course is very scenic ( if a bit windy) with 360 views of the Welsh hills. Everyone was super friendly from the pro, the youngsters on the range, the newbie ladies and the bar man. The first time I've seen periscopes on a course - good fun.

Good day out

When we arrived we were welcomed at the pro shop, given our playing cards and confirmed tee time. Made use of the small putting area before starting. Pleasant 18 holes with very few people out playing. Fairways were excellent, greens a little fluffy and quite slow, however after the rain we have had in the area only to be expected. After our round we enjoyed a drink in the bar upstairs overlooking the course. Overall a good day out.

Beautiful course

Course was in excellent condition. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens all brilliant and well maintained in the recent heat.

I played early mid week and felt like I had the course to myself which was lovely.

Very nice parkland course.

Delightful

On a wet, windy rough day of which we’d booked in advance and obviously weren’t getting refunds so we did it anyway. The course (greens especially) played nice and clean. Cause no one else really wanted to risk that whether we almost had the course to ourselves! And on an extra plus note the attendant in the course shop was nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

Great find

Booked a last minute deal here and was very impressed. Got a great welcome from the golf shop, and was given lots of useful information. Although some temporary greens we were given the distances to the temporary pins which was very useful. The course itself was a bit hilly but nothing to worry about. Only slight negative was the number of times tees were crossing other greens which when busy could slow play, however it was nice and quiet when we played so wasn’t a problem. Overall it is a great course with many different challenges and great views.
