Royce Brook Golf Club - East Golf Course

Played on a Saturday and as usual a 5 hour round here. I am willing to put up with that if the course were in better condition. Most of the tee boxes were burned out and the bunkers were a joke. Looks like they have given up on them, mostly rock and weeds at this point and very little sand. Fairways and greens were about average for a public course at half the price. Not sure what's going on there but definitely not worth the money.

Okay so to be detailed instead of “bunkers are bad”. The bunkers were literally clay and rocks. Not a spec of sand. You’re better off hitting off the cart path. Not only they they were filled with weeds. Secondly, the tee boxes were basically all dirt for 14/18 holes. Fairways and greens were as good as most public courses where no one has etiquette to fix a divot or ball mark. If this course was like $45-50 would say worth it. But until they start caring about the public course maybe even half as much as they do the private one, the $99 fee you are better off playing 2 cheap courses with the same conditions

$90 for this course is outrageous. Course is in terrible condition

The tee boxes were pretty beat up but the fairways and greens were in very good shape, especially considering the extremely hot summer we’ve experienced. I would definitely like to play this course again.

A good number of fairways & Tee boxes were horrible, understandable with hot/dry weather. Bunkers were like cement

We played The East Course and felt some bunkers needed attention.

I played this place in may and it was amazing. I went back for $100 on Sunday and the condition was horrible. No starter. No grass in most of the tee boxes. Greens were pretty good and in good shape but not worth the money for the way they’ve kept it.

Good course, played years back, was in better shape! Would play it again, but not for $111. Not worth more than $80-$85

No grass is the tee boxes, the bunkers were hard as stone, and the fairways were burnt out. The county courses are in better shape. I liked the layout of the course but the condition was bad.

I played here for the first time in maybe 8 years and I have to say what a shame the conditions are at this course. I've read some of the reviews about the shape the course is in but couldn't believe it until I saw for myself.

The cost for my round wasn't an issue since I played early on a weekday. To see that they are STILL CHARGING $109 on weekends is absolutely outrageous. Nothing on this course was kept well (dry and brown weed filled tee boxes, divots everywhere, ball marks on all greens, and rocky sandless bunkers).

Take your hard earned money somewhere else, Mattawang or one of the Somerset County courses possibly.

Do not play. I'm a seasoned golfer and know what a remotely decent course is and this is far from one. No maintenance or upkeep. The tee boxes are something out of a Walking Dead episode. Weeds and tall grass in the middle of them, brown and burnt to a crisp. The bumkers are just dirt and gravel. Even the greens are brown and patchy, like their sporting camouflage. Sometimes it's a wonder you can even see them.
