Royce Brook Golf Club - East Golf Course

The piece of clay was an absolute disaster. I am used to a 4 1/2 to 5 hour round I play roughly 25 times a year. When I was at the 16th hall it was already five hours and 15 minutes. We had to end our time there due to weather related issues lightning. I will not keep playing this course again.

This place is not what it used to be, it’s been going downhill for years and it is just awful now. I’ve been going here for a long time, today was my last. Apparently they are selling half of the property and combining parts of the east and west to make one course. That rumor has been out there forever but they need to get on with it and get it done because just completely neglecting the course while still charging the normal rates is a joke. The bunkers are legitimately the worst bunkers I’ve seen on any course I’ve ever played, barely any sand, huge weeds all around the perimeter (good luck if your balk rolls in), rocks. You can’t play out of them. Tee boxes this round were destroyed, 95% just brown and burnt to a crisp. Cart paths are falling apart, the whole place is a mess. These 4-5 star recent reviews must be employees, there is no way you play here and give this place a high rating, the course is suffering from serious neglect.

Course is pretty decent but It is overpriced IMO. Tee boxes are a bit rough. Greens are somewhat challenging with moderate speed but lots of unfixed pitch marks as well as cleat marks make them less enjoyable. Range is sandy and beat up also overpriced but they have mats you can hit from that are nice. Also look for buckets of balls up there before paying $12 for a bucket. Main issue is the bunkers that don’t drain and have rocky sticky clay not sand. These haven’t been maintained or improved the two times I’ve played the east course. I’d only play here again for a hot deal price below $50. Pretty sad because it’s a decent enough course and enjoyable layout.

I went to this course because I was able to get a deal on it. Isn't worth it for over $70, but the course is in 8/10 condition. Wish it was slightly more challenging but it still was a fun round of 18.

Royce Brook East Course is as challenging as West course for me. I like the layout, especially for the front 9. It’s fun to play there. Staff are always nice.

The green is slower as compared to West. It’s expected though.

Roycebrook used to be in excellent condition. They no longer maintain the bunkers.

Really great course but the bunkers are not playable. They were like hard clay. If these get fixed then the course will be a really great playing experience.

Tee boxes were completely burned out. The greens were so slow they were probably around 7 on the stimp meter.

Course is suffering from the drought. Club house could use a refresh, parking lot was difficult to avoid all the potholes, not a great first impression

Tee boxes and bunkers were in need of repair. Some of the bunkers were mud pits. Course conditions have deteriorated since i played the East course. Tee boxes were very beat up and in need of repair.

The sand traps are not sand traps more like dirt and rocks
