Royce Brook Golf Club - East Golf Course

I have good memories of playing here many years sgo. We did enjoy our round but was disappointed by the conditions of the bunkers (water logged) and many tee boxes. Expect better for $100 round. Greens were good, staff are good. I hope this was just post hurricane Ian conditions and not a permanent issue. I will play again next season

Unfortunately, my most recent experience at Royce Brook East course was disappointing. The greens were in decent shape, but the tee boxes and driving range were in utter disrepair. Normally this would not disappoint me, but when you pay a good amount of money for an upscale, daily-fee course, you expect better. The bunkers had no sand whatsoever with grass growing inside of them and water in most of them. The condition of the fairways was inconsistent. They charge $99 on a weekend early morning time and this is a terrible value.

The course was in terrible shape. Numerous dead tee boxes. Bunkers filled with 2 feet of water. Have played this course many times always a great a course. Was dismayed how bad this course was.

Royce Brook was my favorite course and I was blown away by its pristine quality when I first played as a novice golfer 20 years ago. It has always been one of my favorite courses to play. I was shocked by the deterioration of the course fairways and some tee boxes. It seems like the fairways and tee boxes are suffering from some kind of bacteria that is killing the grass. I was shocked and sad to see how this supposedly upscale and pristine course deteriorated to a level that i haven't seen even in bad muni courses. I feel sad and I hope they can take care of the problem..whatever it may be.

Course lost some grass in the fairways that understandable given the lack of rain this year but tees with no grass isn't. Greens where ok in terms of grass coverage and speed. Bunkers are terrible no sand . You where unable to hit a sand shot. Liked the layout had some nice holes and staff was great.

This was our second time playing Royce Brook-first time was two months ago. For $89 a round, you would expect course conditions to be worth the money. However, this was not the case. Tee boxes are badly torn up and bunkers are beyond unplayable and some were safety concerns. There does not seem to be an abundance of maintenance being exerted. If they ever fix the issues, we might return.

It’s a really cool layout. Some of the tee boxes are a little beat up, but nothing that interferes with the swing. The greens are perfect and rolled great in spite of the fact that it rained for 14 out 18 holes.

Long story short the golf course is no longer being maintained properly due to the fact that part of the East and part of the West have been sold to Developers. From 1999 to 2015 this course was one of the Premier courses of New Jersey it's a shame to see it in such bad shape.

Bunkers were hard, and weeds 3 feet high. “ some bunkers had no sand just weeds and mud” Some bunks were reclaimed by weeds. Royce Brook looks nothing like the pictures. Tee boxes and fairways are straight mud.

I have been playing Royce Brook for many years 16–18 of the tee boxes were pure dirt the worst tee boxes I’ve ever been on. the greens are great shape but there are no sand in the sand traps and the fairways were burnt in many spots.

Fairways were very poor , brown patches everywhere .

Need to put sand in traps .

Tee boxs were burned out as well
