Father’s Day present
I was a little surprised at the condition of the cart paths. Many potholes and broken pieces of curb throughput the course. Like many courses, the sand bunkers were rock hard.
But I was out with my son so I had a great day!
No sand in bunkers
There’s literally no sand in the bunkers. They are dirt, clay and rocks. I know they aren’t putting money into the East course because they’re shutting it down in a few years, but having no sand in an bunker is absolutely atrocious
Dump
Royce Brook had rapidly declined into an utter dump. Once a great, high-end public course, RB has declined into a low end, bottom of the barrel, municipal track. Meanwhile, they continue to charge $100 for a weekend round. There is actual rough in the fairways. The bunker sand is non-existent. Instead, it is red, batter’s box like clay. The rough itself is 6-7 inches is some spots and apparently routine golf course maintenance has been thrown out the window. Maybe the West (private) course is being maintained but definitely not the East. I will never go back. There are other better options in close proximity.
Still Worth Playing
It’s a wide open but challenging layout. Elevation is moderate and the greens are lower in the difficulty level. Most are larger with a few smaller targets.
Wish it was in the same condition as when opened. Some of the bunkers are dead.
Enjoy!
For 70 its good
Cheapest i ever got this normally a 100 bucks so not worth that if you can catch a hot deal for 70 its worth it. They were spraying chemicals every hole normally thats done before people go out. Had to wait for sprayer to tee off every hole!!!! Foam bubbles all over fairways that look like golf balls so imagine how that went. Greens weren’t cut in a week, Im not going back.
Good experience
Staff friendly and helpful. Pace of play was pretty slow, 4 1/2 hours for 17 holes before we ran out of daylight. Concessions cart was seen regularly. Course was in good shape all around. Will definitely return of I can find a promotional rate.
Horrible
It was horrible the golf shop closed while we were still out there and then both of the carts died and no one would answer our phone calls and when they did they basically told us to F off and we were on our own the layout was subpar we got lost once definitely would not recommend this golf course to anyone especially for the price. There’s no signage. I hope this review spare someone to experience at the golf course
Good Course but hard to find balls
The course was good at fairway and green. However, if your ball was landed in the rough, forget the ball, you will not be able to find it because the grass was too tall in the rough.
Course needs more signage at each hole with map of hole
Build the houses already, or fix the course
I get it, the rumor is the public course is getting dozed for housing, but it's been in bad condition for 3 years now. Rock hard greens in the SPRING!! So many pitch marks on the greens that putting is an adventure if you even keep your shot up there. It feels like they're just ringing the last bit of tee fees with as little expenses possible on the public course.
However the staff is great and hope they make the private course accessible to the public, while enforcing maintenance.
Amazing and challenging layout!
Tee box were a mess and green super dry. They did run fast and true. Only other thing was the roughs are quite tall prolly needs a trim, so definitely super punishing if you don’t hit the fairway. Typically I’ve always thought of this course as very nice one, but it definitely needs some TLC. Not sure if I will visit again.
Terrible
The east course is not well maintained. The photos online are probably not of the East course but of the private west course. Slow pace of play. 5 hour round. There is no way that course is worth $99 a round.
On the 16th hole, the group ahead of us we’re off the green and this loser hit my ball back into me because we earlier asked if they could play a little faster. He was playing an orange ball and was terrible at golf.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
This place has turned into a utter dump. The fairways had tall fescue grass. The rough has 6-7 rough in certain spots. The bunkers are without sand. They’re like stepping into a batters box; reddish clay. Have no shame in charging $100. Do yourself a favor, book a tee time elsewhere
