About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Needs work
Greens are in bad shape, most fairways ok. Traps for the most part we're in good shape and guard all greens as well as fairways. I found eight traps this round , makes for a challenging experience.
Course needs work. Probably would not play again.
Nice layout poor condition
The layout was good sandtraps protected the greens however the fairways were in Terrible shape and the greens were worse.

Long Overdo for upgrades
This is a historical course partially designed by the famous Donald Ross. It is ideally located on Atlantic Ave close to I95 exit #52. Unfortunately the property is so ideally located the developers want to remove it and reap the profit of building both commercial and residential units and it has a planned obsolescence evident by the powers that be allowing the course to go in disrepair. I have played there almost every week since 2012 and other than improvement to the sand traps I have witnessed a steady decline. It could be revitalized by improving the water supply. Providing workable bathrooms and improving the maintenance of the fair ways and greens. However, the projected budget for renovations to be funded by the sale of the acreage that makes up the course will destroy the playability of the course. Here’s hoping the participants in the renovations can recreate the beauty and quality of the course with selling so much land that it will not be renamed a chip and putt.

Pace of play was excellent
We enjoyed our round. The pace of play was excellent, they had a ranger on the course and everyone moved along as they should. This course gets a lot of play everyday which makes it tough to keep the grass in great shape. Sand traps were raked and in good shape. Greens were in fair condition and rolled fairly well. We hope to return for another round soon.

Looking for grass
The good: most greens ok, but inconsistent speed from one green to another was a challenge. Tee boxes and sand traps were fine. The not-so good: The grass in the fairways was very thin and ground was very hard. We decided to play winter rules if in the fairway in order to .2get a decent lie for many shots. Sorry, but there are many better options within 30 minutes.

Not in the best condition
We were excited to play this course because it is a Donald Ross Course. However, the course was not in the best of shape. Lots of bare spots in fairways, weeds growing and also the greens were slow and they were not consistent. I think it is because they are not spending any money on maintenance since they have 6 potential buyers in the next year or so. Still, not fun for those of us waiting to until new owners take it over. Lots of ant hills too. Be careful not to step in them!

Greens
Greens needs some work. Not in great shape. Plus fairways needs some grass bc too much weeds.

A nice day
The course was nice, the pace of play was good , the installations, bathrooms were clean and present on front and back nine. Pretty easy to play without major obstacles. A nice day out there playing our favourite sport.!

Average Public Course
I would say the staff person at the bag drop and starter were the hi-lite at this course. Very friendly and happy. The course is public so it gets a lot of wear and tear. They put a single with my wife and I because he missed his tee time and our original twosome was late. No problem. It was third time out and wanted us to help with etiquette and such. Pace of play was very slow. We waited on every shot but it taught our newbie when to hit. Well the late twosome was right behind us and proceeded to hit into us three times, no apologies at anytime..
Bunkers and fairways were in rough shape . People never take the rakes with them so why put them in the carts.
No body repairs their divots or ball marks on the green.
For a 2!20 price of a green fee and a bucket of medium balls was almost $100 dollars for two. Not good value.
