About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Sad to see a Great Course Neglected
I have played this course many times over the past 3 years and it is so sad to watch a muni. DGC is unique- a Front 9 designed by Dick Wilson and a back 9 designed by the immortal Donald Ross. Difficult to determine if there is any maintenance beyond mowing the weed choked fairways and pocked marked greens. That being said, it has great design and is worth playing to envision what was and what, with some investment, could be.

First time playing golf by myself
Played at 5:58 pm tee time. Well kept course and pace was great. Second time ever playing golf, first time playing by myself and everybody was cool. Appreciate the guy behind me for going a decent pace and not rushing me or teeing off while I was on 9th. Played 9 holes in 1 hour 32 minutes. Think that wasn’t bad I didn’t wanna rush too much. But I appreciate the starters to help you find things and all. And the front desk was cool. Bar was still open at 7:30 so glad they stayed open. I’ll come again for sure. About to start playing during the week to get better but had fun

Worst round
I would like a refund of my money because it was the worst round of golf. The starter sent a single man out while I was waiting. Then he paired me with a senior woman. The course play was so slow that I wanted to quit after the second hole. The fairways were very dried out and the greens were in poor condition. I had to skip 2 holes due to a foursome that were all first timers. I played well after that but had to skip the 18th hole because a threesome couldn’t ask me to hit in with them and then they proceeded to spend 10 minutes looking for balls. It was a mess and I would appreciate a refund or credit. Thank you

Course was being punched during play.
Greens were okay and smooth but slow.

Watch Out for Ranger and Taking Cart to Parking Lot
2 major complaints: Staff member was downright rude in chasing me to my parking space where I dropped off my bag in my car. Told me you can’t drive cart in the lot. There were no signs anywhere stating this. I later found out there is 1 sign - which you can only spot if you follow a certain path back to the clubhouse (there are multiple and shorter paths to get back). Second, the Ranger came up to my group and asked us to speed it up. There were only 3 of us and if we played any faster we would catch up to group ahead of us. Poor job on his part of trying to manage golf traffic.

Rundown
The course needs a lot of work. Cart paths very bad, lots of pot holes. T boxes poor. Fairways brown. On course restrooms dirty and dilapidated.
