The 27-hole Neshanic Valley Golf Course is the flagship course of the Somerset County Park Commission system. The renowned design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry created the course. Divided into three nines known as the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow, the course provides three different 18-hole combinations. Each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees. The Meadow/Lake Course features ample amounts of fescue along both the fairways and greens. If you don't hit straight off the tees, you may find yourself in some trouble. There are cavernous bunkers framing the greens, which are also subtly sloped for even more of a challenge. The golf course begins and ends with water holes but you'll find environmentally sensitive wetland areas that come into play throughout. In addition to the 27-hole course, Neshanic Valley also has a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course.

I live outside of this county. But I joined Somerset County as a non resident because Somerset County courses are usually in great shape. I love Neshanic Valley. It is a super nice course, but a little pricey for the average person.

PGA Championship Saturday

Our club played today on the 1st sunny Saturday. It was worth the weight. The rough was up and the fairways pristine. We felt like we had our own championship. No complaints whatsoever regarding the course. Since it's a composite, we played Ridge/Lake. 1 suggestion, water every few holes would be good.. the staff was cool. We even got a lost club back.

The clubhouse was slammed with traffic but it was handled professionally. I ordered the grilled chicken. The marinade came through in the cooking. Best I've had. Kudos

Beautiful, open layout

Plenty of room on the fairways to miss right or left. Not too long. Fairways in good shape considering it is the beginning of the season. Greens still recovering from winter and aeration holes. Pretty bumpy surfaces, but free of leaves or pine cones, etc. High 50's but when the wind gusted and the sun hid behind the clouds it was brisk. Still a great day. Nice views. Played with 3-some in 3 1/2 hours. Love the course and would play it again.
