The 27-hole Neshanic Valley Golf Course is the flagship course of the Somerset County Park Commission system. The renowned design team of Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry created the course. Divided into three nines known as the Lake, Ridge, and Meadow, the course provides three different 18-hole combinations. Each par-36 nine has five different sets of tees. The Meadow/Lake Course features ample amounts of fescue along both the fairways and greens. If you don't hit straight off the tees, you may find yourself in some trouble. There are cavernous bunkers framing the greens, which are also subtly sloped for even more of a challenge. The golf course begins and ends with water holes but you'll find environmentally sensitive wetland areas that come into play throughout. In addition to the 27-hole course, Neshanic Valley also has a nine-hole, par-32 Academy Course.

Neshanic remains in very nice shape even before the spring green up. I enjoy this course as it is a fair challenge and suitable for many level of player with many tee options available. If new to golf, play the academy course, it’s fun and plenty of challenge

Worth the drive

On a day that started out with a light dusting of snow and a delayed opening, a superb day of golf was had by the few of us who ventured out. This course plays as well as any course in the area . Keep up the fine work.

Braving the cold .

Aside from the temps hovering just above freezing and the greens not being very receptive , the course was in great shape .Bundle up and enjoy a fine winter day of golf. I was the only one on the course.

Nice course

Played Meadow/Lake. Nice layout. Very fair course. Slightly above avg difficulty as long as players choose correct set of tees to play from. Really enjoyed my round with 4 single players with GN deal. Definitely recommended.

3 stars for staff and amenities were due to lack of interaction with staff and time of year for lack of amenities available. Nothing to do with poor service or lack of amenities.

Nice layout good condition

Played in early october on a rainy monday in a 3some and round took almost 5 hours. Why??? Condition was good and an open links layout with penalty only when u stray 30 yards off fairways. A couple of forces carries over scrubbrush. Overall excellent experience other thsn slowwwww

This course has a ton of tall fescue rough!

Played Ridge-Lake nines. Course was in great condition and the staff was friendly. Great practice facility and has an executive nine, too. Bring a lot of ammo if you're not a straight driver!!!

Nice Course

This course is in great shape. A more detailed yardage book might be helpful especially if first time playing here. LBut this was a great deal for the price. The old farm scenery gives the course a nice aesthetic touch. Check it out.

the best course in area . please dont tell anyone its already crowded...... they have the best kept secret outside of this area.... but i hope you dont get thirsty. not a drop of water or anything to drink on entire course not even a hose..........

i see people complaining about the lack of drinking water at neshanic valley. number 1 is they always give you a free water to everyone at the starters box. number 2 is they stopped supplying water on the course several years ago when someone got sick (they said) from the water in the jugs on the course. they were sued or were threatened with a suit and got out of the water jug business.
