Return to Grand Vista
Course is in fabulous shape but weather was very warm for Jan (84). However this one of the best curses in orlando area. I love it!!
Okay, but not for everyone
The course is in good shape. It’s an executive-length nine-hole course. The practice facilities are very nice.
Management
There has no marshal most likely because its a nine hole course. Getting started on the back 9 was difficult because of the first 9 hole players lining up so we had to wait. Someone there directing would have be nice. Walkers playing really slowed the process of playing. Someone riding the course to speed people up would have been nice. We had a guy stooping play at every hole talking on his phone, we finally went past him after asking while he was standing on the tee box on his phone. Makes the game play not fun.
** SHORT NINE HOLE COURSE **
I was not aware that this was a nine hole course until we were getting ready to tee off, and I thought I had researched it pretty well, so I'm thinking they need to advertise that a little better. It's more or less an executive course length. Thankfully, we had planned for a 36 hole day with the second round at Falcon's Fire, so we used this as a warm up. That said, this was a great experience. We pulled into the parking lot, and as we got out of the car, we saw two huge turkeys next to our car. I walked into the pro shop, and before I completely got my name out of my mouth, they handed me a card with my tee time (I had prepaid on GolfNow), and we were on our way. I asked about range balls, and the guy in the pro shop said they'll get them for you downstairs. The guy downstairs who had loaded our bags on the cart said that we had to pay for the range balls, but when I told him the pro shop said we should get them downstairs, he just gave them to us. The range was first class. There were several chipping areas, and the putting green was HUGE. The starter was genuinely excited about his job and was very pleasant. The course itself was beautiful, and while it wasn't long, it was pretty challenging. There are plenty of well-manicured sand traps and water hazards, and several of the holes narrow in the landing zone. The greens are VERY well maintained, but certainly not lightning fast. Tee boxes weren't very level, but the grass on them and on the fairways was lush and green. It was a really enjoyable experience.
First Time
I’m a local that started playing about 3 months ago and found this course to be very enjoyable. My score show that I played one of my best games but that can be misleading since it not the typical 72 par course and there are no par 5 holes. I had one of the first tee times of the day so I believe that help me miss any crowds and my pace play was quick. Course condition was the best that I have ever played but then again I have only been playing for 3 months. The only other course I played with similar price point was Timacuan and I would say this course was better maintained and no questions about the greens being better.
Great Executive Layout
Fun short course with a great assortment of holes . Wonderful practice facility.
Excelente campo! Bonito y bien cuidado!
Course Information
Golf Now and the course should make an extra effort to inform golfers that this is a 9HOLE course.
