The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

Great track from tips
Playing tips for the first time gave us a chance to use long irons and made it a bit more challenging. Really fun course.
First One Out
I was able to secure the first, 6:00 am, tee time and finished the round in 3 hours with another single. The tee boxes and greens could use a bit of work, lots of divots and ball marks. Overall a good round for the price, $49, and duration. Would play again if I could get out in the first few groups.
Worth the trip
Architects is a well-maintained and fun course to play. It is challenging enough for a season player yet very manageable. Pace of play would be my only concern. Our round took close to five hours
Great course overall
Course was a great layout and quite challenging. Starter was very accommodating but would check to see if their is outings when you go to play as the round was very slow for a Thursday. Value was very good for quality of course.
Great lunch in restaurant and facilities locker room were nice
nice layout
Great course. Great layout. Nice shape. My only problem was. We played at 7 am and had to dodge the sprinklers all morning. That sucked. And would not pay full price to play here. Thank u golf now.
Outstanding value
Course was in great condition minus some sand traps that needed fresh sand. Otherwise, outstanding value for $40!! Staff is very friendly. Can't wait to play again.
Country Club Conditions
The experience begins when you arrive. The attentive staff unloads your clubs and inquires about your starting time to place you in the Q appropriately. They are attentive and very friendly. The course is a traditional layout, expertly manicured and user friendly. Everything down to the attitude of the refreshment cart people is great.
Great course better staff
Took my brother to this course yesterday. The staff was super friendly, we had a early tee time, got there couple minutes late they allowed us to start on the back nine rather than to wait two hours to get to the next available spot which worked perfectly for us...very accommodating would definitely recommend this to anybody who asked me about them.
Architects
First time ever playing this course. Heard so much about it that I had to check it out. Great deals on their tee times too. Can't wait to get back.
It got worse. Will not return
there are so many things that went wrong.
1. Unfriendly staff. Some of them were just rude.
2. Walk to range? Really? They would not give us cart to go to range. I understand they charge for range balls now. But to walk there with my bag is not acceptable.
3. Pace of play. Took 5.5 hours to finish on Sunday afternoon. There were rangers going around but they dis not do anything. We waited on every hole. And it was not just us. All golfers were waiting on every hole.
4. Condition of the course got worse. At the rate they are charging, the green and fairway is not up to par.
5. No ball cleaners and no water cooler. It was a hot day and there were no water coolers. Only one in front 9. Only one in back nine. And the second one was empty! The ball cleaners had no water no soap.
How things have changed!
Tee boxes all torn up and in below averge shape. Greens like a pinko board! Ball marks all over nothing repaired or fixed can't get a good roll on a putt without it bouncing around. Fairways in average shape. Very disappointed after coming here few months ago and really enjoying my round. To top it all off we waited at every shot and it took 5 hours and 41 minutes to play.
Great Course
Great course for the money. Challenging from the black or gold tees. Longer than most courses I play in NJ. beautiful designs. And a lot of fun. Only complaint was that they need to space the tee times a little more. The whole course was backed up. Also, a few geen side bunkers were hard as clay just an inch below the sand. Twice my wedge bounced into the ball, caused a skull and possibly 2 strokes
Worth the drive
I have not played here in awhile, however it did not disappoint. the course was in excellent overall condition. I highly recommend. It is worth the drive !!
Great place to play
The course is very well-maintained very plus, and healthy. I enjoy playing here very much and would recommend it to anyone.
Outstanding Conditions
Played the course for the first time on July 20. The course conditions were outstanding. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was great finished in 4 hours as a foursome. Good value.
Really fun golf history lesson
The course is fun to play and the Architects' concept isn't gimmicky at all. They did a nice job laying out a very engaging and interactive round. It's a challenging brain-teaser, but it's not frustrating. I'll be back!
Great Course and Views - Need to replace green ball marks
Was very surprised to see so many ball marks not fixed on the greens. For such a nice course and country club you would think there would be more emphasis on the conditions of the greens. Numerous ball marks and divots left on all greens. Other then that I love the course.
Great place! Pro Style course!
I see people complaining about bunkers, but the few I were in weren't too bad. Greens are beautiful! Nice speed, true roll. Fairways well kept. Rough is tough. Dig em out! I loved it and only would complain about the jerk behind us telling us to get goin, or speed it up, when we were waiting ourselves every shot! I, or my group, wasn't telling those two to speed it up smh some people are just ignorant. With that said, although we waited on almost every shot, the round only took 4 hours 15 minutes so it wasn't actually that bad. That's why I didn't complain like the jerk did to us. Architects is worth the drive, worth the money. Fantastic design/layout and I'll be back.
