The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

1st hole Photo submitted by kobeguy2 on 11/17/2012
Never trust an average ranking of a course you know.
Always check a course you know for yourself. I was told a few days prior that Architects wasn't in good shape. I played 36 holes on a Thursday the pace for both rounds was good. The course was in great shape from tee to green. The greens rolled true, may get faster during the season. The staff in the Pro Shop, and restaurant/bar was exceptional. The course has character. Save your bomb drives for the back nine. I'd play here everyday if I lived closer.
Great all around course
Greens are rolling nice. Everything in very good to great shape.
Course will only approve as weather gets better!
I completely recommend this course: challenging yet can score if you tee off well.
Great views of the nearby hills and skyline, spaceous layout.
Course design was great, captures the best features from the world's best architects. Early in season and greens were not what I thought they'd be, they were bumpy and slow. The bunkers were not groomed and hard, other than that the course was fun to play and pace of play was great, just over 4 hours.
Beautiful experience
First out after a 30 minute frost delay played in a comfortable 3hr. round.
Great early season round
Really like the layout. In good shape considering how early it was. Especially this year. Punched greens about 3 weeks ago, but rolling well, and quick. I'm sure it plays a lot tougher once the fescue grows out. Would definitely like to go back in the summer or early fall.
Interesting, fair course
Played The Architects in late April. Course is in excellent shape, other than the greens which are still very slow (typical this time of year). The course offers many beautiful holes, and is fun for an average golfer.
aerated greens ... should be told in advance
This is a great course and fun to play. Courses should be required to post a communication when their greens have been recently aerated. I understand this is necessary maintenance but should be communicated so players have choice
Wide open and forgiving off the tee.
Still early in the growing season so the greens were rough yet. HOLE 17 bunkers suggest a change to a par 4. Interesting to see where each hole came from. Overall enjoyable experience.
Worth The Price Of Admission
Course was in good shape - Thoroughly enjoyed playing the course. Greens had been aerated about 2 1/2 weeks ago so greens were in Ok condition. Will definitely return again when greens are in better condition. Definitely worth playing.
We love the course!
Everything was excellent except for the fact that the greens were recently aerated. I know this has to be done but would have appreciated knowing about it before we booked the course thru GolfNow.com. I have seen alerts on the GolfNow.com site indicat
Aerated Greens
The website said didn't mention aerated greens when we showed up the greens were only 2 weeks removed from being aerated. Course was great but would have been nice to know.
Good Course
Played on a Wednesday afternoon and flew through the round. Greens were being aerated so could not provide an opinion there. I really like the way the holes were modeled after other famous holes from other courses with the designer info on the plaque. The scorecard could use some generic pictures of the holes to help you and/or a picture of the hole on the plaque to help out so better to play with someone that knows the course on the first go around.
Had a great time....great course and well maintained
The staff was super nice and were very nice and helpful...would recommend this course to anyone I know and would like to play here
First time out for the season conditions were excellent
I'd definitely recommend this course got it on hot deal it was great
Good for March 1.
Awesome rate for this course at this time of year. All course conditions were expected (wet fairways, slow greens, etc.), but overall good condition.
Open Layout
First timer to the course and was expecting a much better weather day from the forecast but it was damp with drizzle and fog and stayed that way most of the round. Joined a group that had played the course so they were helpful in guiding for shot placement. The cousre was in reasonable condition for this time of year and rather open enough that you could veer from the fairways and still recover. Difficult to find any distance markings but otherwise no complaints. The putting surfaces were fairly true and there was a generous amount of sand and water to negotiate. Overall a good experience but wish the weather would have been a bit more inviting so to better appreciate what the course has to offer. Will try it again in better weather conditions or in season....
Good quality and worth trying
With reasonable rate, tried the course. Excellent value when booking on golfnow. Open course with large fairways and well manicured course.
Excellent course!!
I love this course! Have played it over 5 times this year and its a nice challenge. It's maintained very well and it shows in the price, but would definitely recommend the course.
