The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

1st hole Photo submitted by kobeguy2 on 11/17/2012
The course is in great shape and a joy to play.
My Sons and I have played many courses. We have played this one twice. It does cost more than most other courses we play but it is always worth the extra money. The tees, fareways and greens are in great shape. We hope to be able to continue to play at this course for the 2013 season.
Great course
, challengings greens and a lot of blind shots , fairway where like butter......lucky for us no long grasssssss
To bad i play in cold weather and not in the summer
Well designed course with quite a few interesting holes
This is one of the best courses that I have played. That's why my husband and I played there 2 days in a row. Love to play there again.
Very happy with Golfnow.com, which enables me to play golf more often. If it wasn't for the website, I wouldn't have played this much.
INTERESTING IDEA
Love the history at each tee box and each hole is unique. Some are wide open while others are narrow. Uphill shots, down hill shots, water great bunkering. It has t all.Very fun course in great condition. Great views of the surronding valley. Good practice faciliy and staff is nice. Can often be a bit slow.
Great Course. Excellent Value
I love this course. Interesting layout without being gimmicky and many of the holes are downright beautiful. Challenging, yet fair. Everything is right in front of you so if you hit the ball well, you'll score. Course was in great shape especially since it was only a week after Sandy. Freindly staff as well. Great value given the rates this time of year.
best in nj
This course has everything. Even going in mid-november the course was in superb condition. I cannot say anything bad about this course except for that it is a little pricey. love this course! Architects and Morgan Hill are the best in the area.
very poorly maintained
People playing in sweatpants and t-shirts, ENOUGH SAID ! this is a good course for 120 shooters and people that want to go drinking. I Met jaws a fews times and he's a great guy but he needs to take a look a look at his golf courses. I paid $35 to play here, anymore is a rip off. sorry Jaws
Awesome
The course was spectacular. Yardage markers when you need them, and the app is great too.
Good Track in Bad Shape
Played this course twice this year and both times the tee boxes were horrendous. They messed up some of the greens when they aerated them and they haven't recovered--there is lots of black stuff on the greens. For the price they don't keep it up the way they should.
Great condition for this time of year. Great Golfnow pricing.
This was my first round at Architects and I am sorry I have waited so long to play it. Loved the layout, plenty challenging without being overwhelming. The layout of the individual holes was always interesting with a LOT of variety in their design theme. Some of the iews were just spectacular and I had to catch myself standing there staring instead of getting into my shot routine. EZ access up route 31 then west on rte 78, 40 minute ride was worth every mile driven and I have two nice courses within 10 minutes of my home in Flemington . Both of them were mentioned in Golf Digest for top public courses. Neither holds a candle to to Architects.
I've played a lot of courses, for location, layout, and value - Architecs is right there at the top of my list.
Wonderful Design... A Little Ragged
Played with a Golf Now rate that was a great value off the somewhat high regular price. This course is a fascinating study of golf architecture. Highly recommend getting the yardage book or downloading the information about each hole. It does not copy famous golf holes, but rather applies the principles of 17 different architects (Donald Ross gets two holes) to the spectacular land that was already there. Wonderful long views. The holes are playable but definitely challenging. Fairways are generally fine, but tees and greens are underwhelming. The greens roll pretty well, but the grass can be sparse.
Interesting features but expensive.
It's an interesting but expensive with >$100 over summer weekends. Couple of greens on the front 9 could be in better shape. I like the long par 3 on 17th. Good experience overall but expensive.
