Deltona Club
About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

Slow Pace
Played this course many times, and I'm familiar with it. Went to #1 tee at designated tee time. Found 3 4-somes waiting, 2 of them came from the back 9 and said the front was packed as well. We started on the back 9. Went well. Got to the front 9, and 5 younger players were teeing off at the same time. They stayed playing as a 5-some, very slow play for that 9. The course has no starter or marshall. When I sent GM an email, his response was, sorry, try to do better next time.
Nice greens
Greens were great; tees and fairways good; traps ok to good; waste bunkers not good. There are some areas that need some attention but much improved from last round played. Will play here again soon.
Pin locations
Everything was fine. Great layout conditions which was nice.
Had no idea where the pins were on the greens. All the same color? Starter forget to advise. What about ref, white and blue?
Deltona Golf Club
Staff is not overly friendly… had 3 foursome teeing off the same time as our tee time. Started on the back 9, then on the front had a group of guys playing in a 5some, the play was slow and long. Not sure I would come back again.
Almost Perfect
Everything about this course should be appealing to most players of any skill level. The fairways and greens are kept in good shape and there is a tee box for every player, young or older. However, to those of us who depend on well marked yardage markers to enhance our chances of choosing the correct club, thus increasing the possibility of a better score, this course leaves much to be desired. Most courses I've played have them at 200, 150, and 100 yards. I also gave this similar review the very first time I played and haven't seen any improvement. I guess I'm in the minority on this issue.
The golf course itself is finally catching up to the staff
Somebody put on here this is not a four star course they are absolutely right. This is not Disney, but then again you’re not paying the same amount as you do at Disney , for what you are paying , this is a four star course. And there’s no way you’re going to meet a nicer staff of people at Disney then you are going to meet at Deltona country club
No review I couldn’t play because it started raining and you refused a rain check because it was within an hour of tee time
Recovering from a cold- starting to rain 30 minutes before play, you refused a rain check because it was within hour of tee
Time- I walked away.
Blind people giving four star reviews?
Whoever is giving Deltona club four star reviews must be either partially blind or have never played a four star golf course. I would give it 2 1/2 stars at its current condition. Yes the greens are actually green now, but are very patchy in places and painfully slow And bumpy. The fairways are decent, but still have a lot of bear patches. The rough is horrendous. If you lose a ball in that, you might as well move on. The brush and crap around the golf course needs a severe cleaning, not just hurricane crap but neglected weed eating. Hopefully they get it together and we see a little more pride of ownership.
