Deltona Club
About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

Skip if playing Saturday morning
3 hours for the front 9; unacceptable. Course otherwise in decent shape
Morning league backed up tee times and course pace
Had a tee time and when I showed up, there were more than 6 groups waiting to play. When I asked the starter why the backup, I was told the men's morning league had more playing than planned. After nearly a half hour past our tee time, we finally went off. Unfortunately, pace of play by men's league was horribly slow. This greatly distracted from the experience of playing a well-reviewed course.
Great Course for $$$
I played this course before management has always try to maintain the course upkeep I like that...that keeps me coming back. The greens were decent the fairways can use some improvements but overall the course was in good condition. My only issue the course does not have a ranger or someone to keep Golfers moving to respect the "pace of play" throughout the game. There was a foursome who had the course back-up with no one in front of them for three holds. We skip three to four groups we had to pass that were in front of us. It was just two of us no golf etiquette to let you pass. When we passed up a foursome we realized they were the culprit the "problem" the reason the course was back-up. Due to time we could not finish the round we missed (3) holes of golf. The course needs someone to manage the "pace of play" and Golfers need to have respect other Golfers playing and learn Golf etiquette let the next group pass if you're taking to long, or if your a foursome let that single or twosome pass everyone wants to enjoy a great round of golf and have fun!!!
Fantastic layout
I have played here twice. Wonderful elevation and contour on every hole. Big flash bunkers all over, but not many forced carries if you steer it around lower. The course doesn't play long as fairways are bouncy firm. Subtle green movement with 3-4 greens tilting front to back. This is a great property of land that Bobby Weed designed or re did, i also like his Paltka restoration, super courses
Tough but fair
If you like rolling fairways, big greens, lots of bunkers and elevation changes- this is the course for you. The fairways are wide but require the ability to play approach shots off of uneven lies. The greens are so deep, that 3 putts are always in the equation if you do not find the correct flag position (front, middle, back). Fairway bunkers come in to play. They, along with the green side bunkers are deep and have plenty of sand for skilled players to extricate themselves. The greens were in excellent shape but a little on the slow side. When the greens are fast, the large tilt from back to front add another level of difficulty. If you are serious player, Deltona is a must play to test your skills. If your are a high handicapper, this course is playable No water, you can find your wayward shots but make sure your pencil has an eraser- as you may want to alter your score.
Great Course
I love this course! It can be a tad long for shorter hitters (from the big boy tees), but they have multiple tees so golfers of every skill level should be able to find the length that suits their game. Greens are in great shape, rolling fast and true. We played in right about 4 hours on a really windy, challenging day, so pace was not an issue. I've recently played Timacuan and Wekiva, both courses were more expensive and in WAY worse condition that Deltona. Deltona also purchased brand new carts, which may have been my only knock on them before this round. Deltona is the hidden gem of courses in the area! Definitely my favorite around, and will be the only course I play until the others get their acts together and either reduce pricing or get their courses in better shape! Thanks Deltona!
Good condition
The greens are very good and medium speed. The course is fun and challenging. I play here a few times a month since I live in Deltona.
Deltona CC is Fun Layout
This course is only one I know of in central Florida with No, not one, water hazard. Neat layout on rolling, might even call it hilly terrain , especially for central Florida. Greens are nice, and course is very challenging (for us old short hitters), but I played well. Be sure to hit extra club on those uphill green-shots. #17 seems to have a 50yrd string-bean green, and there are a few 3putt opportunities .....just have fun on this neat old track. Thanx to GN for the Hot Deals.
Deltona rolls on
The course was in great shape, the layouts challenging, especially pin placements and rolling terrain. Despite the occasional halt in play because of showers, we had a great time. However, for first time players there could have been more signage to give directions, there were no litter barrels or drinking water on the course, or shelters for rain delays. Looking forward to our next round at Deltona.
