Quirky, interesting course and value for money
Played 9 holes early on a Saturday morning, in windy and at times rainy conditions. A quirky course with some testing holes due to the undulating nature of the course and layout. The greens had been treated and spiked as part of maintenance weeks which was a bit of a shame but understandable due to the time of year. A few other groups on the course but overall quiet and pace of play was good. Some hard up hill holes, but also a great downhill par 4. Favourite hole was a short dogleg par 4 past a pylon and then short pitch into a green over water.
Although there isn't much of a clubhouse and your can't in without a members code (it isn't staffed at certain times, I guess, which is awkward if you need the loo), it was worth the £10 for the 9 holes and a fun knock.
Welsh wonder
Lovely little course, in great condition and great value for money.
OK value but in no rush to return to this rundown course
At £10 for 9 holes this course offered fair enough value, but I didn't particularly enjoy my visit. The dilapidated building next to the car park did make me wonder if the course had been closed down many moons ago, and the condition of some of 1st/9th access and tee boxes wasn't great either. As a golf course this short-ish, tricky, hilly course had some challenging, quirky features (miss your 1st tee shot short and you'll roll 40 yards downhill for an uphill lob) and bowl-shaped greens cut into the slopes, but generally the condition of the greens and fairways was disappointing, being either scorched or waterlogged. Some of the views make up for this and I'm sure on a nicer day my round might have been more pleasurable, but I won't be in any rush to go back.
Stunning hidden gem
Absolute belter of a course, stunning scenery, steep in places nice challenge. We only lasted 9 holes but was hottest day of year
Great value
Tricky interesting golf. Fairly hilly. Greens need a wee bit of attention but good value for money
Never again golf course
Staff were friendly. This is the worst course I have ever played there was no maps to were the next tee's were I was hitting balls to the wrong greens I paid for 18 holes but only played 9 holes the fairways were full of daisys the first hole was like hitting across the grand canyon no good for a 64 year old golfer with a bad knee hills were unreal. I felt sorry for the poor old green keeper working on his own. He even turned his grass cutting machine over on one of the hills he had to get a tractor 🚜 to turn it back over. Never again will I play this course.
Golf as it should be
Friendly 'old school' type of golf club and course quite a good test on a bitterly cold windy February day.
Can recommend for a fun day out £15 for 18 holes....the highlight being the greens, you will not find better greens anywhere in the middle of summer....quick true and holding of course and tricky when you have a downhill putt. Just fabulous value for money and not the corporate overpriced stuff you get these days. Super views a bonus !
Hills hills hills
Brilliant course very hilly nice layout some great views absolutely worth £10 for 9 holes no complaints. (Greens are really looked after and fast)
Your very own golf course
Having read the reviews I was unsure what to expect?
I was pleasantly surprised!
Upon arrival, there is no shop or toilets, just a porch with some scorecards.
The course, challenging, long par 3s short 4s and 1 par 5.
Condition, Greens are 8 out of 10,
tees 6.5/10, fairways 7/10.
Views, fantastic!
2 holes with pilons in way, although I didn't hit one.
All in all, it was a relaxed round, just me and some dog walkers.
Great course if you are conscious of your ability, speed..
All in all, great fun was had.
Sadly, their is less attention paid to the ladies tees.
Lovely course, well worth the value.
Great value course. Wonderful views over the Dee Estuary. Really well maintained for the time of the year & money coming in from players as it wasn’t busy on a Saturday afternoon! Could do with some signage for new players as it really isn’t obvious where the next tee is. Staff are friendly though & really enjoyed my round
Great 9 hole course and value for money , very well kept and manicured with some interesting holes
Great value 9 hole course with some testing holes with some lovely views
Dont
Didn’t believe the reviews on this course - I thought it can’t be that bad - it was - no one there at worn out building with broken windows - never saw anyone on course - no markers on course - need 1 leg shorter than other - used all the natural features like pylons and tyre track - would not go back - planned to play 18 done 9 and happy to drive away - could be a stunning location with investment
