Fantastic for the time of year.
The course and greens are in fantastic condition for the time of year and weather we have seen the last few months. Would really recommend this course it’s a bit of a challenge to walk but well worth the effort.
Brilliant golf venue
Great course, well looked after, the clubhouse and facilities were excellent and good value for money
Brilliant course!
Great course. Stunning views! Staff were all lovely and friendly. This is the first time I’ve played but my partner has been here a few times. He loves it!
Hidden Gem
Booking a last minute tee time late evening had me utilising the detailed search tab which highlighted West Monmouthshire GC. With solid reviews I was much intrigued and even more so with the low green fee at just £20pp.
Well, after a 1hr40 drive we’d struck gold! With the weather very much on our side we enjoyed a pleasant fun climb around the UK’s highest course with wonderful views, sheep cut fairways and very well maintained greens it was worth double the fee we paid!
Certainly recommend!
Fantastic course that goes under the radar
Fantastic course that was recommended to me by a fellow golfer while on the putting green at another course.
Very well looked after greens, and fantastic conditions of the course considering it’s on a mountain.
Thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again for another round soon.
A pleasant surprise
Booked West Monmouthshire to tie in with an open we had the next day at Cradoc.
The course has some superb holes and the greens are fantastic, the best we’ve played all year.
Although it has the highest tee in the UK it doesn’t feel like you have had a big climb to get there.
The staff in the clubhouse were wonderful and the locals made us feel more than welcome.
Had a great day !
Many Thanks
West mon - best course and views
The people of this golf club are just fantastic, i was a single ball and a group of 6 members asked me to join along, i believe one of them said he was a former manager/greens keeper. The only downside was no trolleys or buggies, however the fresh air walk was certainly worth it plus the people were incredibly kind and reassuring. The women behind the bar was super friendly. Overall the experience was amazing i would 100% reccomend this place to anyone.
Don't miss playing this course
Great condition . Challenging course excellent greens. Par 3's very interesting ! staff really friendly
Mambers practice on the course
Hi think the course is very good but I played on it a lot of times and the thing that gets me down is the grounds man is always in the way of play and a lot of members like to play a few holes and do a bit of practice on the top wich I think is very wrong as some people are on pay as u play .if members want to practice on a golf course it should be done on a drive in range
Well worth a visit
My son & I visited this course for the first time and enjoyed our round.
It’s a lovely course with some great views and for only £20 was great value for money.
As previous reviews have said, the 3rd hole is a bit of a killer going uphill but once you are through here most holes are not too bad a walk.
The highlight was the state of the greens, they were outstanding!
Unfortunately the club don’t have buggy’s for hire, if they did ( & having had back surgery that limits my golf), I would certainly be back more often.
The club members we met were all very friendly & chatty with us.
We will visit again, once I’ve recovered from walking up the 3rd - Lol
Good course. Nice greens and beautiful views.
Links type couse but up high
A very different course to most you'll play. Mountainous terrain and exposed to the weather. That made shots harder to play and sometimes difficult to see where the ball had landed. The high winds on the day made it even more challenging.
A good experience though, enjoyed the views!
Great day out
Played the course for the first time and as someone relatively new to golf this was a very different experience. Sheep roam freely and the holes are weaved into the natural environment to produce a brilliantly designed course. The third hole is daunting but once up on the top the course is relatively easy walking. The course is in excellent condition and the greens in particular are superb and provide a brilliant challenge. 17 and 18 provide a fine finish to the round. The lovely clubhouse has a balcony overlooking the 18th green and the bar staff and green keepers gave us the best welcome we have had anywhere. A great day out and can’t wait to go back!
A true mountain top experience
The tees and greens were great. Views spectacular. 3rd hole almost killed us. Members were very friendly.
