Course layout is terrible, to many holes crossing over each other which makes it dangerous with balls flying all over the place. Left after 12 holes

In my experience this course doesn't get the regard it deserves. Very nice course. It was BAKED when I played after a stretch of weather so the fairways were rock hard and some greens could have done wth a little more water. But even so it was beautifully maintained. There are a few spots where fairways cross over and as a first timer it wasnt 100% clear on the layout. But overall I really enjoyed the round here. I imagine it would be pretty windy during choppy weather as you're quite high up, but it seems to shield you from the wind if it's a nice day. Again I think this is overlooked due to some of the more publicised courses in the surrounding valleys and cities, but this place holds its own

Great value for £21 on a hot deal. A challenge, without being long. Greens top notch. As usual, photos never upload on these reviews which is annoying to say the least.

Beautiful course, well kept fairways and greens. Weekday golf is quiet and hassle free. Clubhouse is open and friendly. The course is surprisingly flat for a course on top of a mountain, no real need for a buggy. Would recommend this course.

I’m 55 and played many courses over the years until 2 years ago when I suffered multiple mini strokes!! As my health has improved, My son, (&carer) and his friend asked if I fancied trying out a round? I worried that I might not be strong or fit enough to accept their offer but they said they would hire a buggy to help? And just before leaving my Son suggested that I put my clubs in His bag incase of no buggy available? There wasn’t one available so we began our round anyway! On the second hole a man walking his 3dogs, why have you only got 2 bags?? Are you members?? Have you paid for 3?? Then the group behind us butted in to say he’s correct and that they would be checking up later that we had all paid? A few holes later, I was trying to get my tee secure when my son’s friend SPOKE TO ME and said try putting it there ! Then the group near the green along side (30m) felt the need to ssush us and then continue to complain after missing his put!! Due to my illness I’ve struggled with going outdoors or any sort of confrontation and self confidence !! On the 9th or 10th a different group decided to inform us the same and again questioned our honesty!! That was enough for me and I walked back and sat in the car!! As I went my son thought, Why don’t you have a pint Dad? But then said, on second thoughts, he didn’t want to go there on my own incase I was confronted AGAIN!! Safe to say, IWE will not be returning and have to think twice before accepting any offers to get me out of the house in future!! Lovely course and location!! Shame about the Members we encountered!! Probably Members who are concerned with the lack of new members and the course having to shut like so many others!!! Never again!!

Played this course for the second time and what I would say is for this time of year and for the weather conditions there probably isn’t a better course about.

2 points to improve however - I got lost between the 10th and 11th as there wasn’t really any signage and the green on I think it is the 5th (green with a very large tree at the back of it) was complete covered in acorns (and I mean plastered) . Maybe it’s swept quite regularly and I just timed it wrong.

Other than that a brilliant course, one I will definitely return to and may consider for membership.

Great course, well maintained but a little confusing to find some tee boxes from the previous green. Needs to be marked out better.

A real gem of a course!! Second time playing Bargoed GC, first time 2 years ago when first starting golf, but I forgot how stunning the course was! My colleagues travelled up from Cardiff and were extremely shocked how nice the course was and can't wait to book the next round.

First time playing this course. Condition was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and informative. Course layout can sometimes be a little confusing but other than that, all good! Great course can’t wait to bring some friends along next time!
