Great value twilight round
Course in really good condition despite the amount of rain. Greens in particular were good and pin positions in some really tricky places
Great value at £20.
Would benefit from some additional distance markers though. Just having 150 yard markers on every hole can leave it a bit of a guessing game. Same also for the par 3s on tees where it would be useful to know exactly where the white, yellow and red measurements are taken from.
Lovely course
I have played this course now a few times and I have never been disappointed. It is fairly flat and a course I would certainly play again as a solo golfer or with friends. The 18th hole is a particular favourite.
First time at Rhos on Sea
First time playing at Rhos on Sea attracted by the £20 green fee after 1500hrs.
I loved all of it; friendliness of the Pro and two-balls I played through, the course condition and layout, pace of play and clubhouse facilities.
The first 6 holes were parkland and the remainder reminded me of Troon Lochgreen links. Just lovely.
I recommend it - and will likely be back in the summer for the Open Week.
Brilliant value for money.
Rhos on sea
1st time playing this course and booked it after reading the reviews on golf now
I can honestly say that all the reviews are spot on the staff are really great the amenities are good and the course itself was brilliant . Despite all the rain over the last 72 hours the course was relatively dry and the greens were pretty good despite them being tined and dressed the previous week
The only downside was the kitchen is being refurbished so there was no food available but that’s the only downside of the day
Great value for money and the course has something for all abilities the par 3’s especially are great especially the last with an island green in front of the clubhouse makes for a great finishing hole especially if there are a few groups of you playing
Will definitely return later in the year and play again
Tough test of golf. Course in great nick.
Played a last minute round on weds 8/3/23 on way from work.
Myself and my playing partner were warmly welcomed by the pro shop.
We played just before the cold snap of weather really hit, so conditions were very cold, meaning the course played long. Greens were great, rolling true.
After playing the 8th and 9th my friend made a quick dash to the pro shop ( near the 9th green) to purchase a warm weather hat, in doing so we held up a pair of lady members for no more than 3minutes. But they were very rude about it, shouting for us to hurry up, and waving their arms to move on a couple of times.
Not what I’d expect for such minimal delay. We gained a hole and a half on them at the 12th!
Bar staff were very friendly, although it would have been nice to get a warm meal, but unfortunately kitchen wasn’t open.
Overall a great experience, with only negatives being the last members and closed kitchen. But the tees, fairways and greens far outweigh these.
Round of Rhos Golf
A great course that is more parkland than links even though it’s on the prom
An interesting course without being too difficult.
A friendly clubhouse with its members/clientele engaging with you for a chat/banter.
Would definitely return here - I like it.
Fantastic course
The pro in the shop always greets you with a friendly welcome. Course in fantastic condition. Simply a great experience all round. Really enjoyed it.
Great course
Rhos on sea is a great course superp layout staff very friendly
Lovely course
Great green some wind from sea but still fine
Very friendly staff
Good solid course
Good all round course...challenging, good greens and some short challenging par 3's
Slow, slow, slow......
Second round in a week whilst in the area, but again ruined by slow play of two groups ahead. Waiting ten minutes on every tee without an offer to play through gets pretty tedious.
Gave up after 12 holes, which was a real shame as it's a tidy course with good challenge. Desperately needs some course marshals and would think twice about playing again.
Short but challenging........
..... Course, which is fabulous value at the twilight rate of £20. Whilst not the longest, there's still plenty of challenges to be had. Greens excellent and well protected on most holes.
only gripe though was pace of play. On a Sunday afternoon with barely anyone on the course, I (playing by myself) got stuck behind two four balls who didn't have the manners to offer to let me play through. Hope that they weren't members but it meant the 70 minutes it took me on the front nine, turned into a full two hours on the back nine. Took the edge off an otherwise enjoyable round.
Cliver
Hot weather at the moment so the course was somewhat brown but the greens were very good
