Everything was beatiful!
The course gives you one great hole after another. Great vistas, lots of hills and very fast and tricky greens.
Staff was very friendly. Got off right on time and altho the pace of play felt a little slow (we were a 3-some behind a couple of 4-somes) we finished in 4 hrs 30 mins.
I will definitely go again and play the 9 holes I did not play.
Great facility
Great place to play, greens still quick after rain, some little beat up drought, lot of play, could explain this. Facilities are excellent ,course well maintained and nice layout playable for all skill levels, can't wait to go back.
Premiere public course in Northeast
Centennial is a great golf course. Great conditions and greens are excellent. Fast and fair
Fairways are wide and allow for mistakes
Entire staff was very accommodating.
Slow and gimmicky
First of all, playing a prestigious public golf course should mean that 18 hole rounds as a foursome should not take more than 4 hours and 15 minutes. It's not a 'plus' that a round moves along, it's a requirement. It's unacceptable that a course run by Troon Golf should ever accept enough reservations that it causes a round to take 4:45. It's impossible to remain focused and invested in a round when you're waiting ten minutes on multiple tee boxes. If you book that many golfers then there should be multiple rangers riding around keeping pace of play up. There are no excuses for it, it's just unnacceptable.
The course is pretty and scenic, and maintained well, but the elevation changes and severely sloped greens become tiresome. I would bet they're not USGA regulation. I'm not asking for flat greens, but it's impossible to stop putts near the flag on some holes if you miss the hole, making three putts a given.
All in all, when I've played quick rounds there, it's enjoyable. But delayed rounds of golf are like receiving delivery food late, it ruins the experience.
Centennial - Meadows/Fairways
course was in great shape, starter let us go as a 2some - an outstanding day! Greens had some spots healing BUT were rolling nice and true... overall was really very good!
Sledge5631
Over all it was a great round. Pace of play was excellent. Fairways were true. Greens were almost like glass. Traps were well, NY traps. Rough was rough. Tough to score out of the rough. But if u hit it straight that shouldn't matter, correct? It's a true test for the public golfer.
Centennial golf course
Lakes course very interesting, fastest greens I have played on. Unfortunately lots of rain so did not get to finish. But I will be back to try again.
Large fast greens in great condition
Great 27 hole layout with an excellent variety of holes in wonderful condition. Put your approach shot in the right spot or a 3 putt is a good possibility.
Hot Deal / Sour Deal
I have to start by saying from the 9 holes I played twice were it looks like a really nice course. The course is made up of 3 nine hole courses. I thought I got a great deal by selecting hot deal for 18 holes, but when we got to the course we were told there was an outing and we had to play the same nine holes twice. This is something Golf Now should have pointed out in advance.
When we were starting out there was a group of 8 guys that tried to jump in front of us, we had to ask the starter to let us through. Same thing when we made the turn a group tried to jump in front of us. Other than that pace was good, the greens had some blemishes, but overall the course was nice.
I will return
Always a pleasure to play Centennial courses and this was no exception.
Nice Facility
Comfortable environment, lots of practice options both prior & after my round. Matched up with a friendly group & we all had a terrific time. Wish the cart and score card had a better course description / view.
Great course
Exciting hilly hard fast greens
Great customer service!
GREAT customer service, every person I dealt with treated you like you were special!! Great course, great time, great customer service!!
Great courses in great shape
Very nice facility with a large driving range and short game area. Challenging layouts with great fairways and thick rough. Greens are still very good but used to be excellent when they controlled the Poa Annua. My only other complaint is the lack of a step cut from the fairway to the rough. Miss the fairway by a foot and you are in 3 inches of thick stuff. Pace can be a little on the slow side.
WORTH THE TRIP
DROVE 63 MILES TO PLAY THE COURSE AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. MY ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WAS WE HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR TO PLAY THE BACK NINE BECAUSE AN OUTING THEY BOOKED
WAS BEING PLAYED. THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT AND DID ALL THEY COULD TO MAKE IT A GREAT ROUND.
Pretty good
Didn't get the courses we signed up for. Greens were spotty but otherwise in great condition
A Day At Centenial
A very interesting 27 hole course. We played the Meadows and the Lakes. Each had their own unique set of challenges. The Meadows had length. The par fours needed two good long shots to reach the greens in regulation. Once on the green putting required the right line and speed. Otherwise you easily could end up with a double or triple bogey. The Lakes as the name suggests had lots of water and elevated greens. If you don't let the water intimated you, it is a fun course to play. However if water intimidates you bring lots of balls. I would play it again at the right price.
Nice features
This is a beautiful course, more difficult for me as I am not a long hitter but my husband loves this course
Centennial in the fall
Hands down quite possibly the best fall deal around! Course was in great shape. (Meadows and Fairways) greens are legit...quick and deceiving. This course makes you use every club in the bag. The layout and holes are full of character and many of them have great views from the tee box.
The deal was 55 for a 10 am Ttime. That included cart and range balls. Along with 3 dedicated practice areas...putting, chipping and bunkers. Everyone is really nice and your missing out if you don't get a round at this course.
