Best condition it's ever been.
I've been playing this course a couple of times a year for over 25 years. It's condition at the moment is the best it has ever been in that time. Head green keeper changed a couple of years ago and the place has been transformed. It's definitely the best course on the Lynn peninsula.
Great hidden gem
Had a great day again here. Members are welcoming. New pro and staff really nice and the course was mint again. Very tricky and tight. Plot your way round this beautiful scenic course and just enjoy it.
Pwllheli GC
What a transformation from a few years back. The course is back to its former condition (excellent) after a few years in the doldrums. Dan, the new pro, could not have been more accommodating. Only downside was we were behind the ladies 9 hole weekly comp. So a bit slow on the front 9, but made up for it on the back.
Highly recommend.
Little gem of a course
Absolutely loved this course from parkland to links
Great course.
Excellent greens, great fairways and end enough hazards along the course to enjoy 👍🤗
Played early virtually had course to ourselves round in 2.5 hrs, course in great nick
Friendly members and staff who welcomed us from arrival to leaving the club.
Course in good condition with some difficult and challenging holes.
Will certainly return to play.
Great value
Course is excellent value. Very friendly club with some wonderful true links holes along the coast. Played late afternoon and course was in the great condition. Well worth playing if you’re in the area.
Great course but spoilt by hole closures
Played this course many times and is great when fully open. Unfortunately it rarely is and on this occasion only 7 of the 18 holes were fully open. So 80 pounds for 2 players is not great. Also no information either from the pro shop or on the course as to how to navigate these closures. The only real improvement since I last played was the clubhouse management is new and they were great. Very welcoming and friendly with clubhouse open for food and drinks every day and the balcony view over the sea is worth a visit in itself.
Brilliant condition for the time of year.
Although half of this course was closed the links section which was open was in great condition for the time year. Steve in the shop was particularly friendly and accommodating. We couldn't make the last bookable teetime but was told we could go off when ever we arrived. The whole experience was very pleasant and enjoyable. Only 20 pound and you can go round the open nine holes twice if you wanted.
An enjoyable afternoon
The course was in good condition and had a good blend of parkland and links holes. Constructed on a sand base It will be a good venue year round.
I played here for the first time in an Open comp and was really well looked after by my playing partners, members and all club staff I met; the ladies in the shop and the Club President.
I thoroughly recommend playing here and you'll enjoy both parkland and links golf at a fraction of the price of more expensive courses nearby. I paid £25 which in my view was an absolute bargain.
Nice clubhouse, great views, friendly members, great course in top condition with a real variety of holes. Easy to find and adequate parking too. What's not to like?
Best of both worlds
First time playing Pwllheli and very enjoyable it was too. The weather was kind, so the links part of the course was easier for a high handicapper like myself, whereas I’m sure when the wind is blowing off the coast it’s a different animal all together. Which brings me on to the main point of my review,. How cool is it to have a course, with holes which are both inland and links? The condition of the course was excellent and the greens ran so true. Can’t wait to play there again.
