The course is in excellent condition especially the greens,the staff are friendly & the members also,joined up with a member & he was very helpful with course info so keep up the good work to all involved your doing a great job

Firstly the positives - the greens were in great condition, true and fast. Warm welcome from the clubhouse staff.

The negatives - pace of play was slow. Many ‘casual’ golfers were on the course, with lack of adherence to normal etiquette concerning clothing (t shirts and football tops on display) and on-course behaviour. Also, the fairways were pretty long, and many times did not reward a good tee shot.

Overall an OK experience for the money paid.

Pleasant welcome from staff , With self isolating facilities, plenty of anti bacterial gel etc, not knowing the course, a member walked us to the first tee and explained the layout which was very helpful, front 9 holes a bit hilly and not the greatest of layouts from green to the next tee but. Back 9 holes were far better in my opinion, excellent layout and much flatter, overall a pleasant and challenging course , I would visit again.

Thought I’d pick up the clubs again and play a local course. Not played here before and not swung a club for years!

Staff were friendly and approachable in terms of checking my booking and explaining where everything was and how it all works during Covid world conditions.

Course was very well kept, tee off times seem well placed as didn’t need to let anyone through and nether were we held up. All other players/members seemed friendly and was very enjoyable. Will be playing again for sure!!

Great hidden gem! Enjoyed my day during this sunny afternoon! Definitely come back again!

Only criticism is there's an odd flow to the course. Some tee boxes are hard to find, can easily see how some players might tee off on the wrong holes.

Overall, still worth a visit. The course is a welcome challenge, and the greens were fantastic!

Fantastic course and superb welcome. Course layout can be a little confusing but the staff went to the effort of explaining the layout before we set off. Other players and members were very welcoming and offered advice throughout the round. Would highly recommend this course and will definitely be going back

This is a very pleasant course - lots of variety, some steep climbs and ascents, lots of flat holes. It was very muddy - but it was early January after all - but still managed a very enjoyable round.

Staff and members couldn't have been more welcoming, and despite the mud and a few claggy spots on the greens and the fairways, this was a good challenge. Could have done with a bit more sign posting - I completely missed out one hole (the 4th), but that's nothing that can't be sorted very easily. Really enjoyed it - and excellent value for the cost. Would definitely recommend to others, and will return when the course is likely to be a little bit firmer! A very positive experience.

Booked this course as I was in the area for the Seniors Open at Royal Porthcawl and it is not far away. I received a warm welcome and was given a good description of how the course was laid out so that I didn't get lost. You would have to be fit to get around or use a buggy, as it is hilly over the first 9 and very undulating on the back 9. However, that's what gave the course its beauty. Mature trees frame most holes and the fairways were lush and well tended. Greens were consistent and a credit to the greenkeeper and his staff who were busy everywhere. If you get out of position and lose sight of the group in front, it will be difficult at times to know which direction or how far to hit your fairway shots. GPS would be a big help in this regard. At £18.50 online for a single player this was fantastic value and I highly recommend this beautiful, rolling course to everyone.

Beautiful course, fair ways and greens in great condition. Layout of course quite confusing, minimal signs and markers out, wouldn't let it put u off though, will definitely be playing again

This was the 2nd time I've played this course, and if I'm being honest the course itself has deteriorated compared to 3 years ago. Fairways and greens were immaculate before but left something to be desired this time. The course layout is nice, and will present a nice fair challenge as ball placement is often more critical than distance. We were an 18-handicap 2 ball and completed in 3h20, the course is rather hilly so can be tough on the legs when weather is warm. For £15 a round, you won't find much better in South Wales.
