Tucked away in the Ramapo Mountains on a perch overlooking the Hudson, Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point feels far but it’s conveniently only an hour’s drive from the city. The golf course tumbles across dramatically rolling hills, providing views that span the Hudson Valley. Don’t let the 6,485 yards on the scorecard fool you, the daunting elevation changes make the course feel much longer. Walkers should be forewarned that this mountainous golf course is nearly impossible on foot. You can expect a few approaches to uphill greens but more often you’ll be faced with intimidating shots from elevated tees, which loom more than 200 feet above the severely contoured fairways below. The Patriot Hills layout is a formidable test but players of any skill level can appreciate the meticulous care that went into crafting each hole.

Love this course but…
I’ll start by saying I love to play this course, but it could be sooooooooo much better. I just think for the price you can play a better kept course. This layout is awesome though, and you always see plenty of wildlife, good fast carts… I just think the way they take care of the course it should cost 50$ weekday, and 75$ weekend…. If that…. But this course map is soooo awesome that’s why they charge what they do… and hey maybe take care of the course and charge 125$…. But you can’t tell me Mansion Ridge for the same price isn’t sooooo much better kept

Fun course no food
Played here as I have many times before and enjoyed the course albeit the traps were in horrible shape. Can’t understand how they have no food or beverages at the course until May 1st. That’s right May 1st. How hard is it to hire someone to work at the food shack at the turn or to work in the clubhouse? Very surprised. Also showed up 30 minutes ahead of my tee-time only to be rushed out onto the course by the starter when I had wanted to warm-up. And then the starter puts a twosome behind us. Shouldn’t the twosome have gone out before the foursome? Anyway this is not an indictment on the course itself. I will definitely be back AFTER May 1st.

Just loved it
A rare hidden gem. Autumn views were off the charts. Course is tricky with its roller-coaster highs and lows. Be prepared to do a lot of cart driving.

Slow pace of play for the money , it can wear you down if you have to wait every shot but the course is picturesque and kept in good shape
