Good winter venue
Good condition for the time of year. Would want to play it again. Especially in the summer. Golf Now should’ve told us trolleys are banned in winter tho as the members took a disliking to one of our group with a trolley. Also club house was closed so couldn’t have a drink but it was winter.
Some memorable holes on a unique course
Had high expectations from all the great reviews and it lived up to them for the most part. Couldn’t find pro shop staff anywhere to check in, which was a bit of a shame as the shop was essentially inaccessible. The course weaves through the heathland in such a way that makes the experience secluded and peaceful. Some stunning views are offset to many holes. The layout is good with a few cracking holes defined by significant drops in height. The only negative on the layout was a fair few blind tee shots, which for me at least aren’t the more enjoyable form of golf. The 15th hole is an absolute cracker and worth playing to have a go at this alone. Course condition was good throughout.
Will be back
First time playing this course and this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The course was in good condition and the greens were fantastic. Having now played the course I would be more familiar next time and would change club selection on a few holes. I will definitely be back to this course. Pace of play was fine up until the back nine holes as we were a 2 ball with a 4 ball in front so had to wait on a couple of holes but overall was pretty good. We didn't stay for a drink after so can't comment on the amenities but this was a good day out and would definitely recommend to others
Good course
A wet day when I played but good. The first two holes are quite a steep uphill walk.. A nice course and I would recommend.
great day
Great day out, course is fairly challenging. a lot of factors but had a good round. greens were very quick but were lovely to play on
Spring round was stunning
Played here towards the end of March. Weather was stunning, this helped make the day. A little hard to find as it’s located up a small access road. Big car park, and nice looking club house, pro shop and general lay out. Unfortunately pro shop was closed (lunch?), so made way the 1st. For the new comer, the first isn’t that clear from the tee, but there’s a large map as you walk into the 1st tee. First 3-4 holes are up hill, after that you play holes that are a little less physical. Course is looking really good, and greens are getting quick as things dry out.
The 14th is particularly impressive, with stunning views over the Neath valley. Recommended
Father and Son
We have both played Neath many times and again we were not disappointed by great condition of the course.
Superb
Best course we've played to date. Fantastic conditions and although the greens were the most challenging we've played, very enjoyable. Will definitely visiting again soon. Scenery was beautiful too
relaxed afternoon
I was lucky to turn up on my own and be invited to play by two members. This helped as there are some dog legs and a couple of blind shots. The walk round was unhurried and we let through a couple of singles matches. As there are some good uphill stretches to start it pays to take your time and enjoy the wonderful scenery
A Pleasure To Play Neath For The First Time
It was a pleasure to play Neath for the first time today. Some great scenery to enjoy, some challenging but fair holes and a friendly welcome both at the club on arrival and around the course. A very enjoyable afternoon.
