Raven's Claw Golf Club
About
Located in Limerick Township, Raven's Claw Golf Club is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's best golf and residential communities. It consistently ranks as one of the state's top 10. Carved from rolling hills and mature woodlands, the layout features a variety of different holes. No two holes are alike but they require some creative shot-making abilities. With tight fairways and undulating greens bordered by mounds of rough, the golf course also demands accuracy. The design incorporates links-style elements that present a formidable test. The golf course is undoubtedly challenging but there are also recovery opportunities on each hole, which makes it less daunting for beginners. One of Raven's Claw Golf Club's most memorable holes is the tricky penultimate hole. This unforgiving par-3 has a double-tiered, undulating green with no bailout areas to the left or right. Golfers that hit it short will face a blind second shot.

Coarse in great shape
Coarse is very nice. Tight holes and getting out of fairway not recommend. Fun to play. Pace of play was good too
Course is beat up
Played yesterday after playing a year ago a what a difference. Course is just a mess. Greens terrible. Tee boxes tore up. Course set up bad. Greens are huge yet pin placements put on side of mound? Just made no sense. Far better options in the area.
Slow day at Raven's Claw
Course was in great shape and is a very nice layout with plenty of challenging holes along with some Quirky ones (9 and 11). Big problem with pace of play as they let a fifth player out (without clubs) We reported slow [pace to pro shop after 5 holes. They went out but the"fifth" denied playing although he continued to swing on every hole. Result was a way to slow round on a beautiful Tuesday.
Great Layout, Course is getting too much play!
This layout is a great one.. you use every club in your bag. Some people have said it is tricked up, but I have high value for the mix of very long holes, and some shorter ones.
Over the last few years the course has continued to be upgraded with traps in the right places, moved tee boxes, etc. They are actively managing this course.
I consistently have enjoyed people I get paired up with at Raven's Claw. And surprisingly they come from all over, and are consistently pleasant.
Only negative is the course is showing signs of getting lots of play... too many divots in the fairways, par 3 tee boxes well worn, etc.
Overall, a great experience.
The course has potential
Tricky course with a good layout. Fairways were in good condition but the greens were beat up. Very slow pace of play and there was no Ranger on the course.
One of my favorite courses
I find this course an enjoyable challenge. I have introduced this course to friends who have enjoyed it as well.
Saturday am play
Good course layout, greens are firm, in good condition, and relatively fast, course is challenging and in good condition
Only downside was play was a bit slow. However, will definitely play again and recommend the course
Pleasant, a few houses too close
The course has some interesting quirks that make it fun. For example, the first hole has the side of a house in the middle of the fairway. One player in my foursome hit a shot through one of the windows. However, while that obstacle is fun, some of the holes have real houses a little too close...so close that a couple of holes are actively being redesigned. it's a nice course though, starts off friendly, then smacks you in the chops for a few holes, and then finishes relatively easy again.
Nice course
Fun and challenging layout. Risk and reward at its best. Some of the pin placements were poorly placed making putting it to the hole unfair.
Needs more friendly ground crews
The course was beautiful and interesting. Due to heavy rain over the night, however, the fairways were flooded in several courses. I guess that that the flood situation in the fairway made the ground workers nervous somewhat. Some of them were quite tough and rude in giving direction to ride the cart. Otherwise, it was a nice experience. I would recommend to play there when the ground is dry.
Great Design
The design was wonderful...a couple holes need some adjustments with subtle changes but overall I will keep playing this course when I visit my hometown every year
Tough Course
Really challenging course. Play was slow because there was a fivesome playing ahead of us. Played in the afternoon and did not see the Course Ranger at all. Matter of fact, only saw the beverage girl once during the nearly 5 hours playing the course.
Nice Course
Played from the tips. Very nice lay-out.
Good condition. Play a little slow. Ranger was working on it.
I would recommend this course and would definitely play it again.
A hidden gem
A buddy of mine and myself tackled Raven's Claw yesterday afternoon. This was the 2nd time we played the course. The 1st time we played a few years ago and they were in the midst of renovating and aerating the back 9 so we played the front twice then. It wasn't a particularly good experience but I had heard good things since so we decided to give it another go.
We had to start off the back nine but were able to play the whole course this time around. The course is extremely well put together. Lots of undulating fairways. The greens on some holes make for some extremely tough putts. The 17th hole was memorable if not ridiculous. A 250 yd par 3. We were forced to hit driver here, which is honestly the first time I think I have ever hit a driver on a par 3. If you are looking for a course with vastly different holes, elevation changes, and tricky greens--this is your course. No holes play the same. So long as you keep your ball in the fairway, you will do just fine. My only gripe with the course was that it is not particularly well marked. For first time players, we found ourselves wandering around the cart paths a bit when going from one hole to the next as the course is built within a housing complex. Overall, a very solid course which I plan on playing a couple times a year because it is worth the 45-50 minute drive for me.
great dayon a great course
Always one of my favorite courses in the area, the $ 50 green fee made it a better deal. As usual the course was in great shape. It was not very crowded so we were able to play in 3 hours 45 minutes. One of the nice features Ravens Claw has is the cart guys who clean your clubs while you are putting on 18. What we found extremely impressive was Tom, the cart guy, remembered us from our last time. It wasn't your normal 'hi, how was your day" greeting, he remembered all the details from that day. It was a nice seeing someone who cared about his job and paid attention to the customer. Nice ending to a fun day.
Good Round and Slow Pace
The course was in great condition and played well. Greens were at great pace. Reputation for slow play is well cemented...round was long and marked by no ranger presence. Cart had no soda, since the order comes in on Monday (I guess the rush hits then!)
great course
The only negative I have is that there is no official turn for refreshments. They have a cart girl but we saw her on 2nd hole and that was it. Thankfully for the water coolers.
Not worth it
We played on as Saturday morning and there was no starter. Because of this a 12 person match was allowed to tee off in front of us. They were average golfers playing Ryder cup rules, including going back to the tee after searching for lost balls for 5 minutes. We waited on every tee for 10 minutes. We brought this situation to the a Marshals attention on the 2nd tee and he assured us he would keep it from being an issue but we didn't see him again till the 14th hole and by then it was way too late.
