Golfer Reviews
Double Booking Tee Times
Purpose of the title is when the golf course CONSTANTLY double books tee times, I know their theory is making money but golfers do not remotely play at the same pace plus as I have heard multiple times, these people do not know that a tee time means that is your tee time - not before and DEFINITELY not after! If for example a 2 some has a tee time, THAT IS IT! Do not keep that time open for other golfers to use - it just backs the course up more and more - especially with only one course available! Don't frustrate the golfers - especially the loyal local golfers, whether members or not!!!!
Phil
Nice layout and pretty challenging, greens had been aerated, but getting good now, pace of play kind of slow, the staff was friendly and courteous, overall nice course and great price.
You Hope Golfers Have Manners But
Over 4 hours to play a round of golf all thanks to one 3some (out of towners of course). Don't know what they were doing but 90% of the time it was not golf. 90 year old women can play better than them. Lord knows why they even own golf clubs LOL! Few days of rain coming but of course there will be people thinking they can actually play - good luck with that! I guess at least for a bit when the Pines opens up the members won't have to worry about the out of towners being in their way - good on the golf course management in doing that - just hope they stick to that because you know the non-members and out of towners will be whining like little (word starts with B).
Great value, nice course!
Took the family out for a nice round of golf. ⛳️ The staff were very nice and welcoming and for the location you can’t beat it! Will definitely go again! Price wasn’t bad either!
4 Groups On One Hole?
Marshals have to either get people moving or get them out of the way - simple as that. Holding 3 groups up and people teeing off on #1 late is unacceptable. And 6 people in one group - come on - seriously? Other 18 hole golf courses do not have half the problems the Oaks does.
Would have been nice to play this 25 years ago
The course was in rough shape. We played the Oaks 18, but had to play the front 9 twice since the back 9 was under repair. I liked the course layout, at least the 9 holes I got to play anyway. Course is laid out to where you use all the clubs in the bag, which I like. Greens were shaggy and extremely slow! Bunkers were like playground sand. I do see this course as a decent value, but I did not select to reccomend to a friend because of having to play front 9 twice. Staff were great.
Course under repair
No where on golf now did it say that one of the two courses would be closed and the other would only have the front nine open. Once you finished 9 and started over, you were stuck between other groups which slowed down play. No one was on the course offering drinks - and one of their water coolers was empty. Staff was very nice but there was no advanced knowledge of the course conditions and no discount for it.
Same thing on 15 July - if it was posted on the golf courses Facebook page or their website, I and my partner did not see it. Pace of play was not totally horrible but one 4 some backed the course up a good 20 minutes allowing another 4 some to play thru. Courtesy is nice but when you sit on a tee box a good 10 minutes waiting for that group to finish the previous hole plus then the time it takes for that group and your group to finish the next hole, it is rather aggravating. You had the right idea but go ahead and tee off since it was a par 3; mark your balls and then tell that 4 some to come up ahead. Wasted time for all the groups behind you - use some common sense. Like we said, pace other than that was going not too slow - probably a 4 out of 10.
Great Course
Very nice course. This was my first time. Loved the layout. I played the oaks course. Pines is under renovations but I hear it is going to be extremely nice when it opens in September. I would definitely recommend this course.
It will be better especially when the out of towners clear out of the area. Pines evidently will not be open for the public non-members for a while after they open which is good for the members. There are enough bad golfers that tear up the Oaks now the way it is. Tee times were fairly open this afternoon - could it be the foreigners are finally leaving LOL
Great Times
Great deal, great playing partners, pace was a little slow (to be expected at the time) but still wish so many players didn’t OVER-ESTIMATE their skill level.
Great staff
The staff treated us great the greens were a little slow although I admit it has been very hot so they have to keep them a little long and the fairways were a little on the rough side . Ranger could have spent his time working on the peripherals instead of following us around the course watching every shot we made
Marshal following you I would guess because you either had more than 4 golfers in your group which everyone knows you can't do OR you were like too many people out there playing way too slow! On a side note, we played Shalimar Pointe yesterday late morning - took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to play 18 holes and we probably paid $5.00 more than you all did to play a better course with free range balls. People someday will learn.
I know it is tough for about 75 to 80 percent of you all locals and visitors but TRY to move it along - golf should NOT take over 3 hours to play. If it takes you longer, you don't belong on a golf course - you need to be playing putt putt golf so just move it along or let faster players play through !
Great course to play being out of town will play again
Great course to play fast pace greens will definitely play again
Solution is very simple for you - play somewhere else. Course is rough because hey - too many of you want to play it and butcher the course up. On to things more important than this guy/gal complaining. Wednesday had literally no tee times in the afternoon yet there were not many golfers out at all. If people are going to make tee times online or over the phone, then either show up to play or cancel your tee time so others that might want to play have the opportunity to do so.
