Friday play
Us old timmers try and get out once a week and play best ball. The city courses are in great condition fairways and greens. The weather was ideal. Will do it again next week.
TEE TIME MANAGEMENT NEEDED
If you come here on the weekend, be prepared for a long round. Pace of play here is atrocious! 2 to 3 groups waiting on tee boxes constantly. It really takes the fun out of the game. I understand they are low on marshals, but this is ridiculous. Do not recommend weekend golf here.
Another nice round at FW
Enjoyed the round.
Supposed to be play The Oaks but too wet after o/n rain.
Pines is a good course - wide & generous fairways.
Recommended Course
I enjoy fort walton, nice big piece of land with two 18 hole layouts, the Pines is a little more open and the Oaks , you must be more precise off the tee. The greens and fairways are in really good shape for november just wish the tee boxes were flat, for the most part they were uneven, tilted with spines in middle. Its always windy here, great range for hitting balls and practice greens for both chipping and putting. I enjoy my time here and look forward to playing again.
Great condition
The course was immaculate! I normally play in the Atlanta area and putt on greens infested with ball marks. I don’t think I saw an unrepaired mark the whole round! The fairways and tees were in great shape as well. Pace of play was decent after we got off the first, the group behind us had the same tee time, but they were gracious enough to let our 3some play ahead of the 4 of them. Will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone for a great value
Great round even after heavy rain
We were due to play the Oaks, but the previous day heavy rain meant carry-only and no buggies. So decided to play Pines again and it was great. Coped well despite course being wet in a few places and bunkers heavy and wet.
Course doesn't get a good chance to dry out if you are out there playing on it!!!! People with absolutely no common sense at all and chewing the heck out of the course since you probably hit divots more than the golf ball. I see today the golfer wanna-be's only had 2 of them today so they actually were out of the way for once!
old Farrts day out
played a best ball game. Had lots of fun. try and do this once a week; It gets us off our butts and on the course. The two city courses are convenient and in great shape.
Enjoyable and sufficient challenge for higher hanficsppers
Played The Pines course at FWB. Course was in good condition and greens ran well - fairly quick and true.
For the price this is really good VFM.
Unfortunate day
Played the Oaks. Left after 3 hours on hole #12.
Pace of play was a killer.
No food on the refreshment cart despite being told not to come to the clubhouse for food after 9 holes. They charge $10 to fill your cooler with ice.
Nice Course
Very Nice course especially for the money. Great value! Oaks course is very tight so left and right is always trouble. Course is short so that helps. Course in nice condition and greens were in pretty good shape. Of course it will not compare to a $100 green fee course but you are not paying $100.00. I will definitely go back when back in Destin. May try the Pines Course next door which is suppose to be a bit easier.
If you can afford to stay in Destin, then play in Destin. I hope at least if you are going to get in our way in Fort Walton that you at least went online and made a tee time before you came out here.
Old farts best ball
Us over 80 golfers get together once a week and play a best ball game. Mainly just for exercise and conversation. This course is in excellent condition, both greens and fairways. I would highly recommend it.
Play on your own course and stay out of our way!
Great Bang for the Buck
Went to this course thinking it would be an easy day. Far from it! It's a challenging little track. Gotta hit the ball straight and to spots to score. Greens were in good shape. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Gotta go back and redeem myself.
Casual round
Me and a buddy played Wednesday
The course is in very good shape
Tee boxes, fairways and greens all👍🏼👍🏼
Such a beautiful day but we never saw a cart person
Can’t complain about not making money if you don’t have anyone selling out on the course
Pace of play on front nine was slow due to a couple in front of us. Exceptionally slow and didn’t offer to let us play through
Never saw a Marshall either
Great course, great value
Really enjoyed playing here over the years. They keep the court clean and well maintained. The staff is always courteous and friendly
Underrated
First time playing Oaks. Fun layout. Not long. Greens were near flawless. Tee boxes a little chewed up. I’ll give a B+
Exactly - a marshal might help but what else needs to be done is golfers with a tee time booked online ONLY on weekends. Way too money hungry and they (golf manager) could care less about the golfers - members or non-members.
