Hope they can improve the greens
All in all, an enjoyable day. I played on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy, so pretty slow. The round took about four and a half hours.
I got a little frustrated with the junk grass on the greens as it can deflect your putt in a different direction. Most of my missed putts came down to my own mistakes, but the grass cost me a few strokes. One of the locals said the course got infested with some insects years ago and it never quite recovered. The other 18, The Pines, is being renovated as of April 2025. Getting new greens.
the course is fun and still challenging
The fairways were a little bit thin, but very playable until the spring growth is complete. This was my first outing in about a year due to health issues. I plan on seeing you about one a month this year. Thanks for all your efforts to keep the course in good condition and fun to play.
Enjoyed my day. City park type of conditions.
A lot of reviews mention course conditions. It's similar to a lot of city park courses. The grass is still somewhat dormant. The greens are not the best, as there's more than one type of grass, but they are mowed to a good height. A little slow, but not bad. Fairways are similar. If you hit your ball into the woods, it may ricochet off tree roots and get lost. The roots can cost you 2 or 3 strokes. I had lunch at their restaurant and was satisfied. If you are looking for fantastic course conditions, not here. I started my round at 2pm and finished at 6pm. There were a few groups ahead, but not very busy. My first time here and I will play again.
Don’t waste your time
Staff was friendly. Course was the roughest I have played in the area. Not worth the drive or the lower price.
Great value & Golfcourse
The Oaks golf course is coming along for late March…very friendly & accommodating staff, great food in Griulk with specials, will be back!
Slow
When you allowed 5 players same time in 3 different occasions 18 take 4 h 40 min
Marshall aloud because is slow anyways????

Don't Waste Your $$
Fort Walton Beach Golf Club is in terrible shape. Greens are in horrible condition, fairways are covered with sand and tree roots and pace of play was very slow. Not worth the frustration. Play somewhere else!
Awful Stay Away
I live in fort Walton and have played the course dozens of times. This is the worst conditions I have ever seen it in by far (weeds and sand on the greens, tee boxes just sand, minimal grass in fairway, rough areas is like hitting off concrete). Additionally, I called to make the tee time it took 6 minutes .. it was the strangest golf course booking process I’ve ever been apart of. 2 for 18 at 1:00 on the oaks… idk why it took 6 minutes to sort that out. Oh and lastly when we pulled up to the first tee there was a line of 8 carts at our tee time … The Marshall wasn’t even pairing people up. So a single would go out, then a two some, then another single. Completely ridiculous stay away.
Challenging track
At first glance, it looks pretty rough, but the overall playability is really good and the greens actually roll really well even though they look like they don’t or would not. Little lift clean and place is in order but overall a fun round!
Puts a premium on accuracy.
Course still in partial dormancy, so hard to say how it plays in season.
Drove by the course about 1:45 or so this afternoon. I counted quickly 10 golf carts on #1 hole on the Oaks. Do you people not understand about not going to the tee box until a few minutes before your tee time? They will probably be lucky to finish before dark. All these other golf courses to play close to the price you pay at FWB but no, they want to play a 5 hour round of golf on a course in so-so shape. People are morons LOL
