Pines at Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club

You cannot compare this to a expensive, plush course but for the money this is very nice and worth the money.

Fun yet challenging course. Not a lot of water hazards and good bit of sand I like the fairly wide fairways. You normally do not get too punished for an mis hit. I think you will enjoy the round

Greens were in very good condition. Last month no but rain and watering helped.

First time playing here, it’s about 10-12 minutes from where we were staying. The course was in phenomenal shape for a public course. The guys in the shop were friendly and helpful. Will definitely play here again.

Other than taking 5 hours to play, (Memorial Day) had an overall good time. Have played the Pines course for over 45 years. Seen many changes in the course conditions. Everything is nice and green, but the greens are really slow and bumpy. There are two different types of Bermuda grass on the greens. Over the years the fairway Bermuda has encroached onto the original dwarf Bermuda making the greens patchy and slow. They still look nice and putt well, but just have to hit the ball. Other than that, it's still a fun course to play. A strong southerly wind can make it difficult at times.

Wasn’t expecting much, just wanted to get some swings in. Fairways and rough were patchy, greens were extremely slow. Pace was fine. Good course for average or high handicappers or to practice your swing.

The layout is very good but the tee boxes and greens need a lot of work!

Played the Pines.

Other than the greens on 14-17 they were in terrible shape. The amount of clumpy Poa Anna grass taking over the greens made them almost un-puttable..

Oaks is a little better but need some serious attention.

Played the course a few years and thought it was in better shape. Many of the greens need attention—only a few were ok. Fairways had very little grass compared to other courses in the area. I hope management has a plan to bring it back. I’ll try to play it again next year when I’m in the area.
