Rating 71.7

The Tubac Golf Resort sits along the banks of the Santa Cruz River, providing a lush landscape of mature trees and cottonwood groves. The Anza/Rancho golf course is one of three different 18-hole combinations at the resort, which features 27 holes in total. The Anza's par-3 ninth hole has an island green reminiscent of the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass. The Rancho nine's fourth hole is known for being in the Kevin Costner golf movie "Tin Cup." It is also home to what has been nicknamed the "Tubac Triangle," a challenging set of holes that includes the longest par 3, par 4, and par 5 at the resort. The eighth hole is part of this set; at 651 yards it is even longer than some of the par 5s on the PGA Tour.

Tin cup rounds

You play two different 9 hole courses for the 18.

It’s pretty cool you play either Otero then Rancho or Anza and Rancho . The Rancho course is the Tin Cup movie course. It was a great time. Stay at the resort and play all courses you’ll love it. Beautiful scenery.

Worth the drive

Tubac is a three nine course. We played Anza/Otero. We had hoped to play Ranchero (where Tin Cup) was filmed but did no t). Both nines were nice hut definitely stretched out. Fairways were nice, greens were very nice and fast. While playing, you realize that you are away from the city. Beautiful adobe homes, mountain vistas and quiet. Worth the drive.

KRISTIE!

Don't know if I've ever been treated so poorly by the management of a golf course. Here's what happened:

I booked a tee time thru Golf Now and had a confirmed date, time, # of players, cost and # of holes to be played. I had the confirmation in-hand.

Upon arrival, the starter stated that there where only 9-holes open as the other 18 were under repair and we'd be playng Otero twice, No problem we said.

However, when we went to pay for our greens fees, the course manager, Kristie Fowler, stated that there must have been a mistake and the price we were quoted was for 9-holes and NOT 18-holes. I showed her my Golf Now confirmation documents clearing showing we'd booked 18-holes but Ms. Folwer feigned indifference and again said there must have been a mistake. Golf Now only posts the times and rates offered by the course. They don't make mistakes. So, who did?

Bottom line - Ms. Fowler refused to honor our tee time reservation. Rather than do the right thing, she ignored any courtesy or common sense and sent two local golfers off to let the commuinity know just what type of manager Ms. Fowler is.

Both the owner(s) and members of the Tubac Country Club should be embarrassed.
